      Indenture made June 19, 1778; between Clement Wheeler and Lucy Wheeler his wife formerly Lucy Waring, widow of Thomas Waring, deceased of one part and Basil Waring, Jr. heir at law of Thomas Waring, deceased of the other part. Whereas Clement Wheeler and Lucy Wheeler in right of the said Lucy are entitled to a dower in a tract called "Waring's Grove" whereon Thomas Waring died seized and descendent and is now in the tenure of the said Basil Waring, Jr. who has assigned that part of the tract containing 221 ½ acres as her dower right during her natural life and to release all right and claim to the residue of the tract and the water grist mill which Thomas Waring died seized and possessed and that Basil Waring, Jr. may have and enjoy the free and equal use of the Cyder Mill, Cyder mill house and cyder press, the shed at the north end of the chaise house erected for the purpose of putting in storing grain. Said land is contained within the following bounds; beginning at a bounded beech tree by the side of Jockeys Spring Branch which runs up into the South West Branch, the beginning tree of "Fish Pond" which was heretofore resurveyed into "Waring's Grove," and the last bound tree of "Waring's Grove".       Indenture made May 14 1780; Clement Wheeler of PGCo in consideration of 17,775 pounds of tobacco paid by John Dyer has sold all that tract situated near the head of Mattawoman called the "Curtailed Rebecca" containing 177 ¾ acres and beginning at a white oak being the 2nd boundary of "Hog Pen" and 1st boundary of "Renchers Adventure which" was also the beginning of the original (now resurveyed) tract called the "Reformed Rebecca" and agreeable to a certificate of resurvey made by the deputy surveyor of PGCo on August 31, 1771.
