1756-1761 Frederick County MD Land Records {Patricia Abelard Andersen}
826-828. Richard Richardson recorded Power of Attorney 24 Sept. 1759. We John Shelton of Hanover Co., Virginia, and Eleanor his wife, are seized in fee simple of a tract called "Park Hall," excepting one part or parcel thereof conveyed to Thomas Hogg containing 250 acres; and one part conveyed to George Robinett containing 226 acres; and one tract conveyed to Wm Anderson containing 50 acres; which said tract containing 1550 acres, now in FC, and granted by Governor Samuel Ogle under Lord Baltimore by a patent unto William Parks ofthe City ofAnnapolis, AAC, and willed by said Parks to Eleanor his daughter, wife of the aforesaid John Shelton. They now appoint our trusty friend Richard Richardson of FC, farmer, our true and lawful attorney to convey in our name the aforesaid tract except the parts already conveyed. 747-749. Thomas Hogg of FC, recorded 22 June 1759. Made 21 June 1759 between John Shelton and Elinor his wife ofthe County of Hanover, Colony ofVa. Whereas William Parks ofthe Colony of Virginia, and city of Williamsburgh, did by his last will and testament, give and bequeath to the aforesaid Elinor, by the name ofdaughter Elinor Shelton, a tract in FC, bounded on the east with the Shanan Doe Mountains, and on the West with the Elk Ridge Mountains, and called "Parks HalL" containing 1550 acres by estimation, for 95 pcm MD, sell tract of parcel "Poplar Spring Lott" being part of the aforesaid tract, "Park's Lott," beginning at IOth line of original, being also the beginning of a tract ofland called "Put" surveyed for Joseph Chapline, M&B given containing 250 acres, Signed John Shelton, Eleanor Shelton before Jos Wood, Jos Smith. Abraham Hauser of Lanchester Co., Penn., recorded 17 March 1763, between Moses Williamson, weaver,of FC, for 160 pounds one shilling cm Penn., sells part of Parks Hall, being part of a tract which George Robinett bought of a certain John Shelton, adj. to the Shandore Mountain on the west side, it being the second lot of land laying to the northwards of the beginning tree according to the said John Shelton's dividing, Parks Hall into separate lots, to the first line of George Robinetts part, to a line of Thomas Hogs land called Poplar Spring, for 97 acres more or less. Whereas William Parks of the Colony of Virginia and City of Williamsburgh by his last Will and Testament gave to the aforesaid Eleanor, a tract called "Parks Hall" in Maryland on the east with Shandore Mountains, and on the west with Elk Ridge Mountain, containing 1550 acres of land, now for 25 pcm MD, sell part of the tract, called Swearingen's Purchase, a part of Parks Hall, beginning at end of 15th line of said tract, adj. to William Anderson's part, then to John Shirly's part, containing 92 acres of land.
