      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that wee HAWKINS SNEAD, FRANCIS TAYLER and ELIZABETH TAYLER my Wife all of the County of Rappa. do for a valuable sum of Two thousand Three hundred pounds of good lawful! Tobb. in Cask by us received have granted unto BENJA: SPOWE [Spoe] of same County his heirs a certaine parcell of land conteyning One hundred acres being part of a Patent granted to CHARLES SNEAD deced for 1933 acres being dated the 20th of October 1686 the sd land being in the aforesd County and on the North of the River back in the Woods, Begining at a black Oake and extending thence North to a red Oake corner tree to the 800 acres and thence the same to a small Hickory, thence S. E., thence N. E. to the first menconed black Oake. HAWKINS SNEAD, FRAN: TAYLER and ELIZABETH TAYLER his Wife hereby sell unto sd BENJA. POWE his heirs To have occupie and en joy the same with all its rights of all woods waters and water courses without any hindrance of sd HAWKINS SNEAD, FRAN; TAYLER and ELIZA. TAYLAR or any of our heirs or any other persons and do further engage ourselves to acknowledge this our Deed of Conveyance fore Court of Rappa thereto be enroled when thereunto lawfully called by sd BENJA: POWE, or his Father, CHARLES POWE, he or they pay all dues which shall be charged and further for confirmation the said parties have sett our hands and seales this third of Septr.       To all to whome these presents shall come; Greeting; Whereas by one Act of Assembly made att the Capitol the 23d day of October 1705 for the better settling and peopling this her Majesties Colony and Dominion it is enacted that it shall or may be lawfull for the Governour and Comander in Cheife of this Colony and Dominion for the time being by a Publick Instrument or Letters Patents under the broad Seale thereof, to declare any alien or aliens, Forreigner or Forreigners being allready settled or Inhabitants of this Colony or which shall hereafter come to settle plant or reside therein upon his or their taking the oathes therein prescribed to be to all intents and purposes fully and compleatly naturalized, and that all persons having such Publick Instruments or Letters Patents shall by virtue of this Act have and enjoy to them and their heirs the same imunities and Rights of and unto the Laws and priviledges of this Colony and Dominion as fully and amply as any of her Majties: natural! borne subjects have or enjoy within the same and as if they had been born within any of her Majesties Realmes and Dominions; Provided that nothing herein contained shall be construed to enable or give power or priviledge to any Forreigner to do or execute any matter of thing which by any of the acts made in England concerning her Majesties plantations he is disabled to do or execute;
      And CHARLES SPOO, a natural borne subject of the French King having settled and inhabited for several years in the County of Richmond in this Colony and now made application to me for the benefitt of Naturalization and before me taken the oathes prescribed by Law and subscribed the Test, I do therefore pursuant to the said authority hereby declare the said CHARLES SPOO to be to all intents and purposes fully and compleatly naturalized and to have and enjoy to him and his heirs the same Immunities and Rights of and unto the Laws and priviledges of this Colony and Dominion as fully and amply as any of her Majties: naturall borne subjects have or enjoy within the same and as if he had been born within any of her Majties: Realmes and Domions according to the aforesd. Act, saving always in such matters and things which by the Laws of England concerning the Plantations he is disabled.       THIS INDENTURE made the Second day of February in the year. of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighteen and Ninteen coming in Between. ROBERT COLE and JANE COLE his Wife of County of ESSEX of one part and CHARLES SPOO JUNR. of County of Richmond and Parish of Sittenburn of other part; Wittnesseth that ROBERT COLE and JANE COLE his Wife in consideration of the sume of Five hundred pounds of tobacco to him and his Wife in hand paid by CHARLES SPOO JUNR., by these presents doth bargin and sell unto the ad: CHARLES his heires all that percell of land scituate in Parish aforesaid on North side of Mr. BECKWITH's Land containing One hundred acres be it more or less and bounded by the Lands of JAMES HENDERSON and so along the line of BECKWITH and WILLIAM GRIFFIN and THOMAS HEWES, so along to that line to the begining to a marked Chesnut standing in HENDERSONs line lately purchased by sd: ROBERT COLE and his Wife of WILLIAM GRIFFIN, Together with all houses orchards rents issues and profitts thereof; To have and to hold the percell of land to CHARLES SPOO JUNR. during the term. of one whole year paying unto ROBERT COLE and his Wife their assignes the yearly rent of one Pepper Corne att the Feast day of St. Michael" the Archangel' if lawfully demanded to the end that by vertu. thereof and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession sd: CHARLES SPOO JUNR. may be in the actuall possession of the premises and be thereby the better enabled to accept a release of the Inheritance thereof; In Wittness whereof the parties first above named have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seales the day and years first above wrighten

      THIS INDENTURE made the Second day of February Anno Dom: one thousand seven nunarea and Eighteen and Ninteen coming in Betweene ROBERT COLE and JANE COLE his Wife of one part of County of ESSEX and CHARLES SPOO JUNR. of Parrish of Sittenburn in County of .Richmond of other part; Wittnesseth that ROBERT COLE and JANE COLE in consideration of Seventeen hundred and Fifty pounds of tobacco to me in hand paid by these presents cloth bargain and sell unto CHARLES SPOO JUNR, in his actual possession now being by vertue of a Bargain and Sale to him thereof made for one hole yeare and by Statute for transferring uses into posssesion now and to his heirs all that percell of land lying in the Parish and County aforesd; which percell of land I purchased of WM: GRIFFIN and ANN his Wife as by Deeds bearing date the 3 day of June one thousand seven hundred and Eighteen including One hundred acres of land more or less it being part of a track of Land belonging to WM. GRIFFIN surveyed by Capt. ED: BARROW for sd: WM: GRIFFIN and now in the tenure and occupation of CHARLES SPOO JUNR. with all its rights and members and appurtenances together with the rents issues and profits; the Land being bounded (the description of the bounds repeated as in the foregoing Lease) To have and to hold the percell of land to CHARLES SPOO his heirs to be held of the Cheife Lord or Lords of the fee or fees of the premises by the Rents & services for the same due and of right accustomed to be paid; And ROBERT and JANE COLE my Wife our heirs shall warrant and ever defend by these presents free and claim of all incumbrances whatsoever; In Wiliness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands and seales the day and yeare first within written
