SHIPPE of the County of Essex in ye Pish: of SITTINGBOURNE with ye Consent of ELIZABETH my Wife for the sume of Seven thousand five hundred pds. of tobo: & casque secured to be paid to me by JOHN SMITH of ye County & Parish aforesd. have granted unto JOHN SMITH his heires and assignes forever a parcell of land containing One hundred and fivety acres being a parcell of Land formerly conveyed to me, the sd. RICHD. SHPPEE, by RICHD. MATHEWES as by Conveyance bearing date ye 22d. day of May 1690 may more plainly appear; the said Land lying in the County of Essex on the South side of the Rappa: River begining at a white Oake on the South side of OCCUPACE CREEKE next to JOHN WILLIAMS & runing for breadth on the Creeke side, extending it selfe paralell thereunto Northeast; the sd. one hundred and fivety acres of Land with all its rights to have and to hold from me the sd. RICHD. SHIPEE my heires & assignes to him the said JOHN SMITH his heires & assignes in as large manner as is granted to me without ye hindrance of me the sd.       TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come I ELIZABETH JENKINS of the Parish of CITTENBURNE in the County of Richmond within this Colony of Virginia, Widow & Relict of ROWLAND JENKINS late of the said Parish & County deced. send greeting in our Lord Godeverlasting. Know pee that I the said ELIZABETH JENKINS for the love & affection that I do Beare unto JAMES SHIPPIE, Son of RICHARD SHIPPIE deced, I the said ELIZABETH JENKINS being in perfect memory have given & by this my present writing do freely grant unto the said JAMES SHIPPIE all & signular my right title whatsoever to one Plantacon & premisses thereunto belonging conteyning by estimacon Seaventy & five acres lying & being in the Parish of CITTENBURNE in the County of Richmond and now in the occupation of ROBERT HINSON, To have hold & enjoy all my right & title in the plantacon & premisses aforesaid unto the said JAMES SHIPPIE his heirs & assigns from henceforth forever during my natural! life without any manner of claime & demand whatsoever by any persons whatsoever and I the said ELIZABETH JENKINS all & singular my said right & title in the said Plantacon unto the said JAMES SHIPPIE his heirs & assignes against all people will warrant & forever defend during my natural life, I the said ELIZABETH JENKINS have put the said JAMES SHIPPIE in full & peacable possession of all & singular the premisses aforesaid, In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand & afized my seale this 22d: day of July Ano: Dom: 1700
