      IN THE NAME OF GOD Amen, this Sixth day of October Ano: Domin : 1697, I JOHN WOOD of the County of Essex doe make this my last Will & Testament.
      Imprimis I bequeath my Soule to God that gave itt and my body to the earth from whence it was taken in sure and certaine hope of Resurrection to Everlasting Life through the meritts of or: Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ and my Temporal Estate that God of his greate mercy hath lent me I give & bequeath in manner & forme as followeth: Item I give and bequeath my land that I now live on that I bought of Capt. EDWARD MOSELEY and Mr. TOBIAS INGRAM unto my Son, THOMAS WOOD, after the decease of his Mother, to him the said THOMAS WOOD my Son to have hold and injoy the said land to him and the heires of his owne body lawfully begotten forever & in default of such heires unto my Son, HENRY WOOD, & the heires of his body lawfully begotten & in default of such heires unto MARY WOOD, now Wife of my Son, THOMAS WOOD, & her heires forever
      Item I give and bequeath unto my beloved Wife, ABIGAILL WOOD, all my personall estate goods & chattles saveying & excepting that if after my decease my Wife should think Fitt to intermarry, then my Will is that of my personall Estate there be delivered by my beloved Wife unto JOHN WOOD, my Grandson, the Son of HENRY WOOD, one Cow with her calfe to the use and sole behoofe of him the said JOHN WOOD & his heires for ever & unto ELIZABETH, the Daughter of my Son, HENRY WOOD, one Cow with her calfe to the use and sole behoofe of her the said ELIZABETH and her heires forever
      Item I will that my Son, THOMAS WOOD, dureing the life of his Mother shall have hold & enjoy to his oven proper use & behoofe my Forty Foote Tobo: House that standeth at the South end of my Plantation, together with the moyety or one halfe part of the cleare ground fenced & unfenced that lyeth at the end of my Plantation to Witt the South end next & adjoyning to the said Tobacco House, that is to say, one half. of my Plantation not extending to take in my Dwelling House with free liberty and priviledge to cleare what groiind he shall have occasion for & free liberty of Ingress & Egress and Regresse for himself for building fencing cleareing and raysing & keepeing a Stock Item I will ordaine & appoint my beloved Wife Exereci. of this my last Will and Testament hereby revokeing & making void all former Will & Wills by me heretofore had & made appointing this & none other to be my Will and Testament.       KNOW ALL MEN that wee ABIGALL WOOD, DAVID JENKINS & THO: WOOD of the County of Essex are firmely bound unto JOHN CATLETT Gent., President of said County Court in the summe of One hundred pounds Sterl. to the payment thereof we bind ourselves Witness our hands and seales this 10th day of Aprill 1701
      The Condicon of the above obligacon is if ABIGALL WOOD who att a Court held for Essex County the day & yeare abovesd obteyned a Probate of the last Will of JNO: WOOD deced shall att all time hereafter fullfill the Will, pay & satisfie all such Legatees as therein are expressed & doe all the Law enjoynes in such cases, Then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remaine in full force
