      Probate of the Last Will and Testament of CHARLES BETTS deceased is granted to MARY BETTS Executrix therein named the said will being proved by the Oaths of RICHARD WRIGHT, EDWARD COLES and WILLIAM TOLSON Witnesses thereto and the same is admitted to Record.

      Written 1 October 1709; probate record burned.
      Sick and weak. To sons Charles, Jonathan under 18, Royston under 17, William. To dau Mary.
      To Wife Mary.
      "All my daughters" Mary the only one named. The will stated: "If any of my children should marry any of John Haynie's children or grandchildren, they shall not have one farthing of my estate."

      Mary Betts re-recorded the will 16 May 1711. Richard Wright swears he wrote the will and that the re-recorded is a true copy

      - BETTS's Estate to be devided
      Whereas WILLIAM BETTS by his Petition to this Court complaineth that his Father by his Last Will and Testament did give unto the said BETTS and his Brother, CHARLES BETTS, an Estate between them and that his said Brother had repaired the said Estate without giveing him any Account thereof and prayed that some Neighbours might be appoynted to devide the said Estate between them according to his said Father's Wil and judge of the damages [without his order] of the said Estate. It is ordered that THOMAS WEBB, CUTHBERT SPAN, JOHN COLES and JOHN WORSHAM or any three of them sometime between this and the next Court devide the said Estate according to the Will of their said deceased Father and inquire into damages done to the Estate by the said CHARLES and give in their report to the next Court

      Upon the petition of CHARLES BETTS the Executor of his deceased brother WILLIAM BETTS, a Probate is granted him of the Last Will and Testament of the said WILLIAM BETTS deceased the will being proved by the oaths of ALEXANDER MULRAINE, and WILLIAM SMYTH witnesses to the said Will.

      Northumberland County Court March 17, 1697
      Upon the Petition of WILLIAM ALLEN who married MARGARET the daughter of JOHN SHARPE deceased, a Commission of Administration with the Will Annexed is granted him on the Estate of the said deceased, he giving Caution for his due administration on the said Estate according to Law, the said Will being proved by the oaths of CHARLES and MARY BETTS Witnesses thereto, And ordered the same be recorded, And that the said WILLIAM and MARGARET exhibit an inventory of the said Estate to the next Court upon oath.
