      August 1674, BE IT KNOWNE unto all men by these presents that I THOMAS FRESHWATER of the County of Rappahannock Parish of Farnham for and in consideration of Two thousand five hundred pounds of tobacco and caske to me in hand paid secured from ROBERT WOOD of the same Parish & County doe sell to said ROBERT WOOD a parcell of land containing two hundred acres lying and being in the abovesaid Countie and Pish and part of a greater divident belonging to me the said FRESHWATER and bounding as followeth (Vizt,) beginning at a parcel! of land lately sold by me to Mr. WILLIAM HANCOCK and soe runing to the woods bordering upon the land of JOHN NICHOLS and MATHEW WILLCOCKS including the said Quantity to have and to hold the abovesaid land and everie part thereof together withal! the appurtenances belonging to him the said ROBERT WOOD his heirs and assignes forevermore he the said ROBERT WOOD yearly paying the Rents and Services due unto our Sovereign Lord the King and furthermore I the said THOMAS FRESHWATER doe oblige myself at all times hereafter that he the said ROBERT WOOD shall hereafter quietly and peaceably hold all the said premises hereby granted without trouble from said FRESHWATER my heirs or any other persons whatsoever laying any claim under me and in confirmation thereof I have hereunto sett my hand and seale this 5th day of January 1673

      TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come Know yee that I WILLIAM WHEELER of the County of Rappa have for and in consideration of Eighteene hundred pounds of tobacco and cask to me in hand paid and delivered to my content have sold and turned over unto ROBERT WOOD and I have by these presents sold unto ROBERT WOOD his heirs or assigns forever a parcell of land containing One hundred acres or thereabouts being more or less scituate and being in the County aforesaid and in the Parish of Farnham and neare unto FARNHAM CREEKE commonly knowne and called by the name of the HOGHOUSE LAND and formerly belonged to Capt. DAVID MANSELL (FIELD crossed out) deceased bounded Vizt. Divided from the land of GEORGE HOWELL and DAVID FRISTO on ye Eastermost side by a line of marked trees and also divided from ye land wch Mr. ROBERT BALEY layette claim unto wch line runneth on the Eastermost side of a PATH wch goest from the abovesaid house to the sd BALLs Quarter and runing North Easterly from the line wch divideth betweene the sd house and PETER ELDER his dwelling House almost to the said BOYLES QUARTER the said ROBERT WOOD to have and to hold the sd land with all houses and fences therein contained wth Profitts and emoluments wth all and every the appurtenances belonging to him the said WOOD his heirs and assigns forever paying the Rents and services thereon due and of right accustomed Furthermore I the said WILLIAM WHEELER for me my heirs doe oblidge by these presents that the said ROBERT WOOD his heirs or assigns shall at all times hereafter enjoy the said premises without the molestation of me the said WHEELER my heirs or assigns or any other persons whatsoever that may hereafter claime a right to any part of the said land Furthermore I the said WHEELER doe oblige myselfe in like manner that upon the reasonable demand of the said WOOD to deliver actuall reall and personall possession as his owne Right and interest and to confirme the same by ack - ledgement in the next County Court in Rappa In Witness to all and singular the premises herein contained I have hereunto set my hand and seale this 2 day of Januarie 1674 and in the six and Twentieth year of the Reign of our Sovereign King &c.

      KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I ROBERT WOOD of the County of Rappae. & Parish of Farnham, Plantr., and ELIZAB: my Wife for and in consideracion of two Thousand & foure hundred pounds of tobacco and cask to me in hand payd doe sell unto him the said EDWARD LEWIS his heires and assignes Two hundred acres of land being in the County and Parish aforesaid being part of a greater tract of land belonging to the heires of THOMAS FRESHWATR: and bounded beginning upon a parcel of land formerly sold by THOMAS FRESHWATER to WM. HAMMOCK and soe runing into the woods, bounding upon the land of GEORGE NICHOLLS and MATHEW WILCOCKS including the said quantity To have & to hold the abovesd two hundred acres of land wth all its rights to the only use of him the said EDWARD LEWIS his heirs and assignes forever agt him the said ROBERT WOOD his heires and assignes and all persons whatsoever clayming from or under him And in confirmation hereof they sett their hands and Seales the 31st day of August 1678

      KNOW ALL MEN by these prsents that I ELIZB, WOOD of the County of Rappae: and Parish of Farnham, Spinster, have appointed my loveing Friend, THOMAS COLLY, my lawful Attorney for me & in my name to acknowledge in open Court the next Court held for this County of Rappae: my free and voluntary consent unto a certain Deed of Writing for the Sale of Two hundred acres of land bearing equall date wth these prsents & made between my Husband, ROBERT WOOD, of the one part and EDWARD LEWIS of the other rateying all whatsoever my said Attorney shall doe in the prmises as if I my selfe were personally prsent.       KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I ANGELL JACOBUS of North Farnham Parish in the County of Rappa:, Cooper, and ELIZABETH my Wife, coheire with ANN the late Wife of FRANCIS GOWRE of the sd Parish and County deced, of all and singular the lands of HENRY CLERKE of the Parish and County aforesd. deced for and in consideration of Two thousand Five hundred pounds of good sound merchantable Tobb: and caske to us in hand paid or secured to be paid by this present Charter confirmed unto the sd ROBERT WOOD One hundred and Ten acres of land with the appertinances thereunto belonging being in Sittenburne Parish in the sd County of Rappa: on the North side thereof bounding and adjoyning in part upon the lands of ELIAS WILSON and JOHN FENNER which sd One hundred and Ten acres of land is part of a tract of Four hundred acres of land which were and did belong unto the sd HENRY CLARKE deced, Father to me the aforesd. ELIZABETH, now Wife of ANGELL JACOBUS, and to me by right of Inheritance descended To have and to hold the sd Land with all its appertinances unto the sd ROBT. WOOD his heires forever of the Capitall Lord or Lords of the Fee by services due therefore and of right accustomed To the proper use of sd ROBT: WOOD his heires forever and I the said ANGELL JACOBUS and ELIZABETH my Wife and our heires the aforesd. land with its appertinances to the aforesd. WOOD against all persons whatsoever (and especially against the heires of the sd ANN and FRANS: GOWRE) will warrant and for ever defend by these presents, And Lastly I the sd ANGELL JACOBUS and ELIZABETH my Wife oblige ourselves to acknowledge these presents in the County Court of Rappa: unto sd ROBT. WOOD when by him lawfully required In Witness we have hereunto sett our hands and seales this Sixth day of 9ber 1688
