      Know all men by these presents that John Lord of
      Harfort in New England, Merchant do constitute ordain and
      appoint my well beloved friend Mr. James Gaiter my true
      and lawfull attorney in my name and for my use to demand
      and receive certain debts due to myself and my brother
      Richard Lord as by his general letter· of attorney recorded in
      the court office in the County of Westmorland and also of
      Mr. Daniell Litsro of the Manatos, of John. Earle of the
      County of Northumberland and Doctor Wm. Adams of the
      same county giving and granting to my said attorney full
      power and authority to sue arrest implead and to do and act
      all lawfull things for recovering of these debts holding firm
      and stable whatsoever my said attorney shall do by these
      presents, as witness my hand the 12th January 1656.

      have made constituted and appointed and by these presents
      make constitute and appoint James Gaylard my true [-----]
      attorney for me and in my name stead and place to [----]
      prosecute William Adams in an action of debt ratifying and
      confirming whatsoever my said attorney shall do [--]
      premisses to all intents and purposes in as ample manner as
      if Imyself were present and did the same, witness my hand
      this 12th day of January 1656.

      Thomas Speke his letter of attorney James Gaylard
      Know all men by these presents that I Col. Thomas
      Speke do constitute and ordain James Gayland my true and
      lawful! attorney for me and in my name to sue arrest
      condemn and implead Thomas Broughton tor a debt
      belonging to Mr. Thomas Garrard of three thousand weight
      of tobacco and cask and ass ignes by the said Mr. Garrard to
      me and what my attorney doth or cause to be done I do
      ratify and confirm as if I were personally present, in witness
      whereofI have set my hand the 13th day of July 1657.
