      THIS INDENTURE made the 21st October 1776 Between ROBERT STUART and MARYhis Wife of County of Culpeper of first part, JOSEPH STROTHER & NANCY his Wife of same County of second part, and JOHN BUTLER of County of Fauquier of the third part Whereas, the said Robert Stuart by Deed Indented and acknowledged in Culpeper Court the 15th October 1767 did in consideration of Love and affection convey to said Joseph Strother and Nancey his Wife a certain parcel of land in Bromfield Parish in Culpeper County aforesaid in the Goard Vine Fork of Rappahannock River on Beaver Dam Run containing 200 acres and bounded Begining at three red oaks on a flat on the South side of Beaver Dam Run thence North to a red oak corner to JOHN GRAYSON thence North to a red oak on a hill side in Graysons line thence South to two red oaks Corner to ROBERT STUART JUNR. thence South to the Begining To Have and To Hold the said Land to said Joseph and Nancy in fee simple and Whereas the said Mary did not execute and acknowledge the said Deed and said Robert and Mary, Joseph and Nancy purposeing to convey an indefeasable Estate of Inheritance in said land to John Butler
      This Indenture Witnesseth that said Robert Stuart and Mary his Wife and Joseph Strother and Nancy his Wife for sum of Five shillings Sterling paid by said John Butler and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and fifty pounds current money in hand paid by said John Butler to said Joseph Strother and Nancy his Wife have granted 250 acres of land bounded as before recited . . . .
