      Charles County Land Records 1790-1792; Liber K#4; Page 103. Jul 13, 1790 from Francis Sheppard, commonly called Capt Francis Sheppard, son and heir at law to John Sheppard decd of CC, planter, to Colo John Hoskins Stone of CC, for 500 , all that tract of land in Durham parish in CC, called Middle Green Enlarged, originally, on may 2, 1774, granted to John Shepperd, being a resurvey on Middle Green, containing 155 acres. Signed - Francis Shepard. wit - Dan Jenifer*, Geo Dent*. Mary Ann Shepard, the wife and relict of the late John Shepard dead, relinquished her right of dower to the within land, she, sd Mary Ann, being left by the devise of her sd late husband, John Shepard, in consideration thereof, to hold and enjoy during her natural life, the 2 tracts of land called Linn & Linshin, which was exchanged for the sd land called Middle Green Enlarged.       Charles County, Maryland Land Records 1813-1814; Liber IB-10 {Abstract by Mike Marshall}; Page 434. At the request of Thomas Shepherd the following Bond was recorded April 5, 1814
      Maryland Sct; know all men by these presents that we William Stewart and Horatio Plant of the District of Columbia and Jane Taylor of CC are held and firmly bound unto Thomas Shepherd of CC and made just and full sum of 500 pounds current money to which payment well and truly to be made and done we severally and jointly bind ourselves by these presents this August 26, 1806. Whereas William Stewart, Horatio Plant and Jane Taylor are representatives of Francis Shepherd late of Charles County deceased are entitled to a proportional part of the real estate and whereas it is agreed between both parties that the real estate of Francis Shepherd shall be valued by major Samuel McPherson and Dr. Samuel Hanson and the differences paid to the other party. Now the condition of the above obligation is such that if the above bound William Vincent, Horatio Plant and Jane Taylor shall severally on their receipt of their proportional part of said real estate and current money give in writing under their hands and seals to Thomas Shepherd a full discharge relinquishing thereby all right title and claim to said real estate as aforesaid then the above obligation to be void and of none effect.       On the back of the aforegoing bond is thus written to wit
      We the subscribers appointed by Thomas Shepherd, William Stewart, Horatio Plant and Jane Taylor representatives of Francis Shepherd late of CC deceased to value an appraiser real estate do hereby certify that we met on the said land and after viewing the same did fix thereon the sum of 261 pounds 14 shillings and 4 pence half penny a reference to the within instrument of writing will show our authority. Given under our hands and seals this August 26, 1806, signed William Stewart, Horatio Plant, Jane Tayloe [sic Taylor] in the presence of and acknowledged before
