      Will of Walter Middleton

      In the name of God Amen. I Walter Middleton of Lee County and State of
      Virginia Being weak in body but sound of memory and in my perfect senses Blessed be God for so great an enjoyment Do this day the tenth of Febry one thousand and seven Hundred and ninety-five Do make & ordain my last will and Testament revoking all other wills and Testaments and I do declare this tobe my only last will and Testament that in manner following to wit first I do leve and Bequeath unto Mary my beloved wife two negro Boys and one negro girl named Isaac Will and Cotney together with all the Real and Personal Estate that she brought me as also all and all and singular my Household furniture and one Bald horse in lieu of a man that she brought me. Secondly, I do leve and Bequeath unto my Father Thomas Middleton all and singular the Balance or Remainder of my Estate both real and Personal and ordain and appoint that my said father shall pay all my just Debts and Demands

      And I do appoint and ordain my true & trusty Friend Alexander Stewart to be my sole executor of this my last will and Testament-

      In Witness whereof I have set my hand and affixed my seal Published and Declared as my last will and Testament in the presence of the subscribing
      witnesses.

      I don't see Margaret Middleton who married David Thurman in 1792 Lincoln County listed on the will/probate along with the other children 1808. Since she and David appear on the 1810 Lincoln County census, I am wondering if you have more information as to why she was excluded? The bond signature for their marriage was Walter Middleton.

      Is it possible that Margaret who married David Thurman in 1792 with Walter Middleton surety on the bond, belongs in this family and not in the Thomas Middleton family

      Would he be the Walter described in Lee Virginia?
