      You John Gibson, joiner, Nathan Smith, carpenter and John Wheat, Jr., planter do confess judgment to Edward Linton for 6 pounds 15 shillings and 9 pence current money damages and 235-1/4 pounds of tobacco costs which sums were recovered on the fourth Tuesday of June last before David Crauford and John Read Magruder, Gentleman to be levied on your goods chattles lands or tenements for the use of Edward Linton in case John Gibson shall not pay and satisfy the said sum and costs thereon on February 10th next. Taken and acknowledged before me August 24, 1761, John Contee, Nathaniel Magruder
