      Unto welbeloved son Thomas Gresham one Negro woman Jenny when he shall come to the age of twenty one years
      Unto my welbeloved wife Mary Gresham and my five sons Robert Gresham, Thomas Gresham, and William Gresham and Charles Gresham and John Gresham eleven head of cattle equally divided.

      THIS INDENTURE made the thirteenth and Seventeenth day of February in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred & Twenty Nine Between ROBERT GRESHAM of the County of Essex Planter of one part and EDMUND BAGGE of the same County Planter of other part Witnesseth that sd ROBERT GRESHAM for the sum of thirty pounds Currt, money of Virginia Both grant unto the said EMUND BAGGE (in his actual possession now being by virtue of one Indenture for term of one year & of the Statute for transferring uses into possession) & to his heirs & assigns all that tract of land in the Pish of St. Anns in the County of Essex containing two hundred acres of land & bounded Beginning at the old Corner red Oak stump on the North East side of the COUNTY ROAD & runing thence South West to a corner red Oak that devides this & the land of MONCASTER thence along his line West to an old corner red Oak thence North East along the old line to three corner Red Oake sapplins near the old Corner Stump (by the ROLEING ROAD) wch devides this & the land of JOHN SMITH thence along the sd SMITHs irregular mark't line which if it were straite would be forty three degrees East to the beginning being the land whereon CHARLES GRESHAM Father to the sd ROBERT late deced lived & which sd ROBERT enjoys in right of his Mother FRANCES who had the same given to her by the WILL of her Father ROBT. PARKER as may appear Together with all houses, gardens, grounds & appurtenances whatsoever belonging To Have and To Hold to the onely use & behoofe of the sd EDMUND BAGGE his heirs and assigns forever. Escheated from William McKenny, dec'd., for 100 acs., by inquisition under John Robinson, Esqr., Esch'r., 16 Feb. 1726, to Charles Gresham; since whose death some dispute arising between Edmund Bagge, Gent., devisee & Ex'or, of John Bagge, Clerk, & Mary Gresham, Widow of sd. Charles, about their right to the sd. land; & at a Council held at the Capitol, 14 Dec. 1726, the Honourable Robert Carter, Esqr., President, &c., with the advice of said Council was pleased to grant sd, land to sd, Mary Gresham, &c. Survey returned by Robert Brooks for 76 acs. 2 Lbs. Tobacco.
