      pp. 171- 172 TO ALL XPIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come I WILLIAM BOWRNE of QUANTIQUOTT in Stafford County beinge ye Sonne & heire of THOMAS BOWRNE late of QUANTIQUOTT aforesaid Deced & also Exor_ of his Last Will and Testament send Greetin ge in our Lord God. Whereas ye said THOMAS BOWRNE among other things in his said Will in Writein ge under his hande & Seale did Will and devise five hundred acres of land out of his Patent of Two thousand acres of land att QUANTIQUOTT aforesaid, that bee purchased of Capt. JOHN LORD & dyed seized of to be sold towards ye payment of his Debts in these words ye Lowermost thousand acres of my Two thousand acres of land I give to my Sonne WILLIAM BOWRNE ye Lower most five hundred acres I give to him & his heires for ever & ye upppermost five hundred acres of ye said land
      lowermost thousand to bee by him my said Sonne & Exec. sold for & towards ye payment of my Debts, pursuant to ye said Will I ye said WM. BOWRNE did in ye yeare of or Lord 1672 for ye some of foure thousand five hundred pounds of Tobacco paid mee by THOMAS HUSSIE of CHARLES COUNTIE in ye PROVINCE of MARILAND towards payments of ye said fathers Debts, the receipt of wch I doe acknowledge & doe dischardge said THOMAS HUSSIE & sell unto the said THOMAS HUSSIE his heires for ever ye uppermost five hundred acres of ye Lower most one thousand acres of land accordinge to ye direccons of ye Will of my Father THOMAS BOWRNE aforesaid expressed as loth appeare by a Deed of Sale under my hande dated ye 12th day of April in ye yeare aforesaid duely executed in Stafford Court ye 24th day of the said Menthe of Aprill 1672 & then recorded wch Deed ye said WILLIAM BROWNE did covenant wth ye said THOMAS HUSSIE to give to him at any time when legally required such further assurance and forasmuch as that att ye time of makein ge the said Deed of Sale ye true metes and boundes of ye granted premises for want of bein ge survayed could not then be particularly expressed Now Know Yee that for ye Consideracon above expressed I the said WILLIAM BOWRNE have sold unto the said THOMAS HUSSIE ye aforesaid five hundred acres of land bein ge on ye South West side of OUANTIQUOT CREEKE in Stafford County beginning att a marked white oake a Corner tree standing by a Marsh on the South East side of a Swamp by QUA MOUNT CREEKE side & extending by a lyne of marked trees South West into ye Woods wch lyne divides this lande in Grant & a tract off Three hundred acres of land sold by me ye said WILLIAM BOWRNE out of ye Grand Pattent to a marked white oake & finally up ye Creeke of QUANTIQUOTT accordinge to ye severall courses thereof to the first menconed white oake In Wittness of all I have sett my hande & Seale this Sixth day of October 1690.
      Memorandum the Deed of Sale recited herein to have been granted to THO. HUSSIE to whom this release is made was in ye name of MICHAELL ASHFORTH assigned by him to ye said THOMAS HUSSIE but ye true use beinge for said THOMAS HUSSIE ye Release is made to him

GEORGE BRENT of Stafford County to bee my true & lawfull Atturney to acknowledge in the County Court of Stafford one Deed of Gift to my Sonne in Law SAMUELL LUCKETT of CHARLES COUNTY in ye PROVINCE aforesaid for five hundred acres of land on QUANTIQUOTT CREEKE in Stafford County that I purchased of WM. BOWRNE Sonne and Heir of THOMAS BOWRNE deced ratiffieinge for stable and good whatsoever my said Atturney shall doe. In Wittness whereof I have sett my hande & seals this Eighth day of September 1691

BOWRNE of QUANTIQUOTT in Stafford County in ye Collony of Virga. ye Sonne & Heire of THOMAS BOWRNE deced five hundred acres of lande part of a tract of Two thousand acres of lande purchased by the said THOMAS BOWRNE deced of Capa. JOHN LORD as by said Deed of Sale upon record in the County Court of Stafford County may appeare Now Know yee that I the said THO. HUSSEY for that Love & affeccon that I beare towards my Son in Law SAMUELL LUCKETT of CHARLES COUNTY in the PROVINCE aforesaid and also for divers good causes Have given unto him ye said SAMUELL LUCKETT his heires for ever the abovesaid Five hundred acres of lande beinge on ye Southwest side of QUANTIQUOTT CREEKE in Stafford County in the Collony of Virga. beginninge att a marked white oake a Corner tree standing by a Marsh on ye South East side of a Swampe by QUANTIQUOTT CREEKE side & extendinge by a line of marked trees Southwest into ye Woods in Length three hundred & twenty perches to a marked red oake neare ye little Creeke from thence South East by a line of marked trees to a marked white oake another Corner tree by OUANTIQUOTT CREEKE side finally up ye Creeke of QUANTIQUOTT to ye first menconed white oake. In Wittness whereof I have sett my hande & Seale this Eighth day of September 1691
