      In the name of God amen. I Edward Barton of the County of Stafford being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect memory, blessed be God for it. Do declare this to be my last will and testament, in manner and form following--
      Item. I give and bequeath my soul to God allmighty which gave it in certain hopes of a blessed salvation, and my body to the earth, to be decently buried at the discretion of my executors hereafter named, and as for my worldly estate, which it hath pleased Almighty god, to bless me with all, I give and bequeath as followeth--
      Item. I give and bequeath to my to grand children, Ann Linton and Moses Linton all my land in Virginia, to be equally divided, between them, when they shall come to age. Only my daughter Ann Linton is to have her thirds in it during her life.
      Item. I give and bequeath to my Daughter Ann Linton, one feather bed and furniture.
      Item. I give and bequeath to my Grandson William Linton, one feather bed and furniture.
      Item. I give and bequeth to my Granddaughter Ann Linton one feather bed and furniture.
      Item. I give and bequeath to Sarah Barber one cow and calf being the young of the said red cow.
      Item. I give and bequeath to my Grandson William Linton one mostly black horse.
      Item. I give and bequeath to my son in law John Linton all my personal Estate after my just debts and legacies are paid.
      Item. I appoint my son in law John Linton to be my whole and sole executor of this my last will and testament.
      In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 10th day of January Dom. 1712.

      This will was presented in Court the 14th day of January 1712 by Jno Linton Ex. therein named who made to the same and proved to be the Last will and Testament of Edward Barton by the oaths of Owen Dyall and Dorcus Venables witnesses thereto is admitted to record. And in motion of the said John Linton, and his performing what is usual in such cases, a certificate is granted him for obtaining a probat thereof in due form, and is recorded.

EDWARD BARTON came into Court and became Security with DAVID STRAHAM attorney of EDWARD SYSON of Maryland to pay all manner of costs and damages unto RICHARD KNIGHT that may acerew by reason or cause of an action now depending in the Court between David Straham attorney of Edward Syson Plt and Richard Knight the defendant. David Straham attorney of Edward Syson of Maryland complains against Richard Knight .. for sum four hundred seventy four pounds of tobacco due per accompt .. and Richard Knight came into Court in propria persona and could say nothing to Barr or preclusion of said debt so that the same appears to be Justly due Therefore cis ordered Richard Knight shall make present payment of the said sum

      285. Administration of the Estate of JOHN GOSLING late of this County deceased is granted to ANNE GOSLING the widow and relict of John Gosling she giving good security and enter into bond to perform what the law directs Touching the said Estate. WILLIAM HARRIS and JOHN PEAKE became security with Anne Gosling and entered into bond accordingly.
      Ordered that RICHARD HURDMAN, EDWARD BARTON and ROBERT CROPPER or any two of them shall appraise the Estate of John Gosling deced between this and next Court and that Capt. MARTIN SCARLET swear them accordingly and Anne Gosling shall return a true and perfect inventory of her deced husbands Estate to next Court.

I Anthony Williams of Stafford County in Virginia being sick & weak .. give & bequeath unto my wife ANN & Daughter ROSE all my whole estate that was properly my own before I married her to be equally divided between them both and in case thereof my daughter should dye before she comes to the age of fifteen years then to be divided between my son in law JOHN SHARP & THOMAS GOSLING I give to SIMON GOSLING a gun .. to my daughter Rose 340 acres of land lying and being near the head of Quanticott Creek in case whereof she should dye to be divided equally between John Sharp and Thomas Gosling. I give to SAML. JAMES one hundred pounds of Tobo. I appoint JOHN PEAK & EDWD. BARTON my sole Executors .. this 29th day December 1699.

Son to said John containing 449 acres bounded .. be-ginning at the head of a branch called Burbiges Creek at a white oak & running then E=176 poles over the main road to an hiccory by the White Marsh thence N & by E=380 poles to a red oak & a poplar thence W=184 poles to a great pine upon a still thence S & by W 394 poles to the branch on which it began by a small gum thence up the said Branch E=4 degrees N=21 poles to the first beginning ..
