Hawkins, John, Queen Anne's Co.,23rd Apr., 1717; 26th. Sept., 1717.
To eldest son John, £100 ster., also £100 to be pd. by bill of exchange to discharge his mortgage to Rich. Bennett, Esq. Having made advances to sd. son in money and tobacco, he is to be discharged to them, providing he shall not bring any manner of account against estate.
To dau. Eliza: Marsh, £100 ster., also 10,000 lbs. tobacco, and the advances made to late husband, Mr. Thomas Marsh, are discharged.
To granddau. Sarah Marsh, £60 and personalty to be pd. her at marriage. Shd. she die before, the £60 to be divided among the rest of her sisters, children of sd. Thos. and Eliz. Marsh.
To grandson John, and hrs. (eldest son of son John), "Barron Neck," lying on Double Creek, £60 and personalty to be pd. him when he comes of age.
To other grandson Ermault and hrs., remaining part of "Tullye's Delight" not already settled on son John, also plan, lying at Bever Marsh on Tuckahoe Branch, and personalty to be pd. him when he comes of age.
To Michael (son of nephew Wm. Turbutt) and to Marion (dau. of nephew Foster Turbutt), all remaining part of tract called "Jaspars Lott" on Red Lion Branch to be divided bet. them. Shd. both of them die before they are of age to enjoy sd. land, it is to pass to son Ernault; also to each of them, as they arrive at age, £30.
To nephew Samuel Turbutt, the £18 pd. for him to Charles Carroll.
To Abraham Sherrine, land where he now lives, during life.
To John Lurkey, old servant John Creamer, Jane, widow of Robt. Clouthier, and to vestrymen of St. Paul's .parish, personalty.
To bro. Col. Wm. Cousey and to sisters Sarah Covington and Eliza: Coursey, one mourning ring each.
Test. directs that shd. son Ernault die before his wife Elizabeth, she is to enjoy the lands conveyed to testator by Chas. Vandeford on Coursey's Creek, during her life.
To son Ernault, ex., and hrs., residue of estate, real and personal, he to consult with Rev. Chis. Wilkinson about tombstone for deceased.
