This Indenture made this Ninth Day of November
in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty
Seven between John Watson of Prince Georges County and Province
of Maryland Gent of the one part and John Glassford & Comp.a
Merchants in Glasgow of the Other Part Witnesseth That the Said
John Watson for and in consideration of the Sum of thirty five
pounds Eleven Shillings and Six pence Currency to him in hand
paid by the Said John Watson Glassford and Comp.a the Receipt whereof
he the said John Watson doth hereby Acknowledge hath given
Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Released Enfeofed and Confirmed
and by these Presents He the Said John Watson for himself
his Heirs Executors and Administrators doth Give Grant
Bargain Sell Alien Release Enfeoff and Confirm unto them the
Said John Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs and assigns for
ever all the following two Tracts of Land Lying and being in
Frederick County and Province afs.d Viz.t one Tract or parcell of
Land Called Killybego being part of a Tract Called Discovery
and Containing One hundred fifty five and a half Acres more or
Less also another Track or parcel of Land lying in Slago
Branch being part of a Tract of Land called Labyrinth containing
Two hundred and forty Acres more or less Beginning at a Line of a
Tract of Land Called Josephs Park at or near the north West
Corner of a parcell of Land Laid out for John Ramsey and
running thence with the Said Ramsays Land East one hundred
and seventy five perches North one hundred and eight Perches
to the Beginning Tree of the Land of John Maddin then
with the Said Land North twenty Seven Degrees West
ninety three Perches north forty four Degrees west ninety six
Perches north Eighty and a half Degrees West Sixty eight
Perches to a line of the Said Josephs Park then with the
said Line to the first Boundary Together with the appurtenances
Belonging to the Said Two Tracts of Land To have and to hold the Two
afs.d Tracts of Land with the Appurtenances belonging to them unto
them the said John Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs and Assigns
and to for ever To the only proper use of them the Said John
Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs and assigns and to or for no
other use intent or purpose whatsoever And the Said John Watson
for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators hereby Covenants
and agrees to and with the Said John Glassford and Comp.a their
Heirs and assigns That he the Said John Watson his Heirs
Executors and Administrators the two afore mentioned Tracts of Land
& Premisses with the Appurtenances belonging to each of them
unto ^them^ the Said John Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs and assigns
As well against him the Said John Watson and his heirs as against
all and every other person ^or^ and persons whatsoever shall and will
for ever warrant and Defend by these Presents Provided Always
and it is the True Intent and Meaning of these Presents and the Parties
to the Same That if the Said John Watson his Heirs Executors
or Administrators Shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid
unto the Said John Glassford and Comp.a the afs.d sum of thirty
five pounds Eleven Shillings and Six pence Currency at or upon
the first Day of September which shall be in the year of our Lord
Seventeen hundred and fifty Eight with Legal Interest thereon from
the first Day of August next ensuing the Date of these Presents
without Fraud or farther Delay Then the above Instrument
of Writing to be void otherwise to Stand and remain in full Force
and Virtue in Law and the Said John Watson for himself
his Heirs Executors and Administrators farther Covenants and
Agrees to and with the Said John Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs
and assigns that ^he^ the Said John Watson his ^Heirs^ Executors & administrators
The afs.d Sum of thirty Five pounds Eleven Shillings &
Six pence Currency with Legal Interest therein from the
First Day of August next ensuing the Date of these Presents
unto them the Said John Glassford and Comp.a their Heirs
and ^or^ Assigns at or upon the first Day of September which
Shall be in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty
eight Shall and will well and truly pay and Satisfie

Consideration Money for the within Mentioned Lands and
Appurtenances Jn.o Watson

Justices of the Provincial Court John Watson and acknowledged
the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed
and the Lands & their Appurtenances therein mentioned to
be the Right of the within Named John Glassford & Co their
Heirs and assigns for ever according to the true intent and
meaning of the same deed and the Act of Assembly in Such
Case made and Provided before

Indenture made February 21, 1760; John Flint, planter of PGCo, in consideration of 20 pounds sterling paid by John Watson of Frederick County, Maryland as also 5 shillings sterling has sold "Flint's Discovey" (62 acres only excepted) lying near Rock Creek and beginning at the last line of the said 62 acres of "Flint's Discovey" and containing 138 acres; also "The Addition to Flint's Discovery" containing 100 acres. Signed John Flint in the presence of John Hepburn, John Belt, Jr., and acknowledged before John Hepburn

Indenture made November 10, 1760; John Flint, planter of PGCo in consideration of 20 pounds sterling money of Great Britain paid by John Watson, Gentleman of Frederick County, Maryland as also 5 shillings sterling has sold part of a tract called "Flint's Discovery" containing 121 acres and bordering "Widows Mite", land now in the possession of Henry Waring, and that part of "Flint's Discovery" now in the possession of Thomas Johns; and also one other tract called "The Addition to Flint's Discovery" containing 87 acres. Signed John Flint in the presence of and acknowledged before John Cooke, Christopher Lowndes

Montgomery County Land Records, 1777-1781; Liber A1, Page 5. Jul 4, 1777 from John Watson of M, planter, to John Reynell and Samuel Coates of the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, for 800 £, to be equally divided between them as tenants in common and not as joint tenants, 2 tracts of land in M, the first lying on Slago Branch, being part of a tract of land called Labyrinth, containing about 240 acres, bounded by a line of a tract of land called Josephs Park at or near the NW corner of a parcel of land laid out for John Ramsey, then to the land of John Madding. The second is a tract of land patented by Frederick Lord Baltimore to the sd John Watson on Aug 2, 1766, called Rockingham, and laid out for 12 acres, lying in M, bounded by a tract of land called Refuse, a tract of land called Joseph's Park upon the head of Slago Branch. Signed - John Watson. Wit - Charles Jones*, Richard Thompson*. Mrs. Sarah Watson, wife to the afd John Watson, relinquished her right of dower to the within mentioned lands. Recorded Aug 12, 1777.
