      THIS INDENTURE made the fourteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & forty one between WILLIAM CLIFTON of the County of Prince William gent of one part & JOHN SNODEN of the aforesaid County Planter of other part Witnesseth that said WILLIAM CLIFTON for the Rents and Covenants hereafter expressed hath granted to farm Let unto the said JOHN SNODEN a certain parcel of land by estimtion one hundred and fifty acres being in the aforesd County being the land where the said JOHN SNODEN now lives on & bounded begining at a white Oak near the mouth of TIMBER BRANCH & runing thence S by W to two white Oaks & red Oaks corner trees standing on CRAB TREE thence down the said Branch to the back line of CAPT. BRENTs land now known by the name of LONGMANS LAND and thence along the said Line N by E to a branch of LITTLE HUNTING CREEK thence up the said Branch to the mouth of TIMBER BRANCH to the Begining white Oak near the mouth of TIMBER BRANCH To Have and To Hold the said land to him the said JOHN SNODEN during the natural life of him the said JOHN SNODEN, JAMES BEACH & GEORGE BEACH Sons to THOMAS BEACH during which time it may be Lawfull for him the said JOHN SNODEN to possess the said land paying unto the said WILLIAM CLIFTON his heirs or assignes the annual rent of seven hundred & thirty pounds of Tobacco Quallified according to Law to be paid yearly by the twenty fifth day of December & the said JOHN SNODEN doth agree not to sell any timber off the premises neither shall he sell his Lease without the Leave of the said WILLIAM CLIFTON & at the decease of the said three lives shall yeild up into the possession of the said WILLIAM CLIFTON Provided if it shall happen that said rent be not paid in Twenty days next after same become due that then it may be lawfull for the said WILLIAM CLIFTON the premises to enter and the goods & chattels there found to take and bear away until! the rent be fully paid further said WILLIAM CLIFTON doth agree that it shall be lawfull for him the said JOHN SNODEN to make use of any timber they can find on any of the Land unleased belonging to the said WILLIAM CLIFTON Provided it is not to be found on his own part the land hereafter only excepted all the land lying between said WILLIAM CLIFTON & a North Course runing from four Spanish Oaks corner trees of JOHN SHERIDONs land to a red Oak & corner trees by the side of a Branch that said WILLIAM WILLIAMS is bounded on finally said JOHN SNODEN doth oblidge himself in three years space after this date to plant out one hundred apple trees cious on the said plantation & the same to keep under good fence, In Witness whereof the parties have set their hands & Seals

John Snowden recorded 23 August 1770, made 21 July between Charles Beatty, of Frederick County, and George Fraser Hawkins ofPrince George's County, assign one lot of ground in the Addition to Georgetown, being part ofa tract ofland called Knaves Disappointment, number 272. Philemon Plummer recorded deed 21 August 1775, from Thomas Snowden, John Snowden and Samuel Snowden of Prince George's and Ann Arundel Counties, ironmasters, for 63 sells three parts of Addition to Brooke Grove, containing 159 acres; 6 3/4 acres on Hawlings River, and third part, 6 1/8 acres adjacent to Bradley's Choice, plus another part for 47 acres. Signed before Basil Burgess, H. Ridgely.

      Indenture made November 1, 1779; Samuel Snowden of PGCo and John Snowden of Anne Arundel County, Maryland, ironmasters in consideration of 200 pounds sterling money paid by Thomas Duvall, farmer of Anne Arundel County, Maryland has sold a tract called "Tylers Range" containing 200 acres and beginning at two bounded white oaks standing on a fork of the northwest branch of the Northeast Branch of Potomack River that runs by Thomas Sprigg's quarter. Signed Samuel Snowden, John Snowden in the presence of and acknowledged before Thomas Macgill, James Beck and at the same time Elizabeth Snowden w/o Samuel Snowden relinquished her right of dower

      Montgomery County Land Records, 1777-1781; Liber A1, Page 130. Feb 28, 1778 from Samuel Snowden and John Snowden, sons of Richard Snowden Sr and Thomas Snowden, grandson of the sd Richard, of Anne Arundel County, Gentlemen, to William Holmes of sd County, Gentleman. Whereas the sd Richard Snowden Sr, by his will dated about Jan 5, 1763, empowered his 3 sons, Thomas Snowden, Samuel Snowden, and John Snowden, to convey all lands sold by him on receipt of the money due for the same, in as ample a manner as if done by himself, and whereas sd Richard Snowden, some time before his death, sold 100 acres of land, being part of a tract of land called Bear Bacon, lying in Frederick now M, for 60 E, but no conveyance was executed for the same by sd Richard Snowden Sr, and which sd money sd William Holmes has paid to sd Samuel Snowden, John Snowden, and Thomas Snowden, since the death of the sd Richard, agreeable to the direction of the will of the deceased, and whereas Thomas Snowden, son of Richard, one of the persons appointed by the will of the sd Richard Snowden to execute conveyances, is also deceased, leaving Thomas Snowden, his only son, who is appointed guardian to Mary Snowden (a minor), heir at law to Thomas Snowden decd, who, on behalf of as guardian to Mary Snowden, has agreed to execute these presents, now this deed witnesses that the sd Samuel Snowden, John Snowden, and Thomas Snowden, for sd 60 , and for the further sum of 5 shillings sterling to them in hand paid by sd Holmes, have granted to sd Holmes, part of a tract of land called Bear Bacon, situated in M, bounded by the part of Bear Bacon which was heretofore sold by William Masterson to Isaac Downs, part of Bear Bacon which was heretofore sold by Richard Richardson to Isaac Downes, containing and now laid out for about 100 acres. Signed - Sam Snowden, John Snowden, Thos. Snowden. Wit - Thos. Macgill, Jas. Beck. This deed was ack. by all three grantors in Anne Arundel County before Thos. Macgill and Jas. Beck. John Read Magruder, Clk, Prince George's County, certified that Thomas Macgill and James Beck, Gentlemen, are JPs for sd County. Recorded Apr 13, 1778.
