      To my three oldest sons John, Joseph and Thomas all my estate in consideration that I have two younger children... Richard and Cornelius which said children I do commit to the charge and care of My three sons to be brought up in a Christian manner
      My said eldest sons do give to each of my two youngest in course a colts of the increase of my plantation paceing mare as she brings them.

      THIS INDENTURE made this thirty first day of July in the yeare of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and four Betweene JOHN REYNOLDS of the Parish of ST. MARY in the County of Richmond of the one part and Mr. RICHARD TALIAFERRO of the County of ESSEX of the other part. Wittnesseth that the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath granted unto the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO and to his heires and assignes forever a certaine parcel of Land containeing by estimation Two hundred acres more or less being part of a Patent of Five hundred acres (granted to WILLIAM REYNOLDS deceased and the said JOHN REYNOLDS by Collo. WILLIAM FITZHUGH, Agent for the PROPIETORS of the NORTHERN NECK) beareing date the fifteenth day of October One thousand six hundred ninety and seven, the said Two hundred acres of Land as aforesaid to begin att a marked white Oake being the lover corner tree of ROBERT PAYNEs line by the side of Sunken Ground opposite to certaine Glade, running from the said white Oake North into the woods to a Swamp supposed to be seventy or eighty paces from the Dwelling House of WILLIAM REYNOLDS, and from thence a cross to the East line of the said Patent, and from thence along the said line downe to the River and athwart to the prime station, the River being the natural' bounds, together wth: all houses gardens orchards wth: all other premisses to the said land appertaineing and all the right and interest which the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath or ought to have to the sd Land and premisses as aforesaid for and in consideration of a Negro Man and four thousandpounds of Arronoko Tobbo: and casks to him payd. before the ensealing of these presents by the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and himselfe therewith fully satisfyed; To have and to hold all and every part of the afore- said Land with all appurtenances and priviledges of the premisses above sold to the only use and proper behoofe of the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO his heirs' s and assignes for ever more; And that he the said JOHN REYNOLDS hath full power to grant and sell the said premisses and furthermore the said JOHN REYNOLDS doth for himselfe his heires covenant that he the said RICHD. TALIAFERRO his heires may forever peaceably and quietly hold and enjoy all the said premisses without any lett or interruption of the said JOHN REYNOLDS his heires or assignes or without any manner of lawfull molestation of any persons whatsoever, And also the said JOHN REYNOLDS on the behalfe of himselfe his heires will att all times and upon the request costs and charges in the Law of the said RICHARD TALIAFERRO his heires doth suffer and acknowledge all and every such things in the Law as shall be devised for the assurance and sure makeing of the above mentioned Land and premisses.
