Comment: The parents of Margaret Barron were Thomas Barron and a dau. of Abraham Lemaster whose name is not known and who predeceased Thomas Barron. Later depositions refer to Margaret as Abraham's grandaughter. See also the later transactions of Margaret Barron and her husband Thomas Higdon, Sr., concerning the land "Berry" that was left to Margaret by Abraham Lemaster's will.

Mar. 1733/4 - Margaret Higton [sic] is next-of-kin in the St. Mary's Co., Md. inventory of her brother Richard Barron. The other next-of-kin is brother Thomas Barron.

July 1761 - Thomas Higdon, Sr., of Charles Co., and Margaret his wife, deed to Abraham Higdon and John the Baptist Higdon, for 1000 pounds of crop tobacco and natural love that they have for their sons Abraham and John the Baptist Higdon, a parcel of land called "Berris," beng part of a tract of land called "Betty's D______" ["Delight"], lying in Charles Co., containing 100 acres. Comment: Margaret is a grantor on the deed (and not just waiving dower) because it was land that she had inherited.

Mar. 1775 - At a Charles Co., Md. land commission requested by Isaac Campbell for "Betty's Delight," the deposition of Edward Cadell, aged 56 years or thereabouts, states that "the place where he now stands he was shewed by Abraham Lamaster [grandson of the Abraham Lemaster who devised part of 'Berry' to Margaret Barron in his Sep. 1722 will] and Thomas Jameson now deceased 25 years ago a locust stump which they told him was a division between old Abraham Lamaster's dwelling plantation and that part of 'Betty's Delight' called 'Berrys' which he gave to his daughter and grand daughter, the place aforesaid being near the fork of two branches one of which branches being called Berrys Branch."
