KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that I EDWARD JEFFRIES of the County of Rappa:, Plantr.. for divers good causes and considerations in hand paid me thereunto moving do make over from me my heires one bay Mare branded on the further buttock with E: W: the wrong way and a mare Colt about ten months old with white blaze down the face unto Two Children of GEO: BRUCE to them their heires forever but in case of mortalitie of ELIZ: BRUCE without issue her interest thereof to fall to CHARLES BRUCE, but in case of mortalitie of HENFIELD BRUCE his share to fall to WM: BRUCE and in case of mortalitie of the above named then the abovesaid Mare and Colt then to fall to GEORGE and JOHN BRUCE and their encrease to be equally devidod according as above mentioned when at the age of one and Twenty years I the abovesd. JEFFRIES do warrant the said Mare and Colt from any persons whatsoever laying title
thereunto the which Mare and Colt I the sd EDWARD JEFFRIES do oblige myself to deliver the said Mare and Colt into the Custody of GEO: BRUCE SENR. or in case of mortalitie of the sd GEO: BRUCE SENR., then GEO: BRUCE JUNR. to take the above mentioned Mare and Colt into his Custody and to have manazemt. thereof I the sd JEFFRIES do oblige myself to acknowledge sd premisses in Rappa. County Court as Witness my hand and seale
this 16th day of Aprill 1688
