In thefollowing property abstracts we find that the land of FRANCIS HAILE was located between the Potomack and Rappahannock Rivers. This is where Old Rappahannock County, Virginia. was located. The present counties of Essex and Richmond Counties, Virginia. took its place. Lancaster County, Virginia. is the county immediately south of Richmond County, Virginia. Several Deeds and wills place FRANCIS, RICHARD his son and JOHN (Richard's son) in Essex County, Virginia.

      Descendants of George Weedon

From the late John Horatio Nelson:

On May 10, 1659 Francis Hale made a deed of gift to "Sarah Weedon, daughter unto John Turner" and on May 11, 1659 John Turner made a deed of gift to his daughter Sarah Weedon. As George and Sarah Weedon appear in later records as man and wife, it is certain that George Weedon married Sarah Turner, daughter of John Turner, and it appears very likely about May 1659. As John Washington witnessed the deed of gift from Hale to Sarah Weedon, mention of the document is made by Mr. C.A. Hoppin in his volume, The Washington Ancestry, p. 154. The actual manuscript recording is in Westmoreland County Court Order Book 1653-59, p. 130.
