      Grandson Charles Baldridge; William son of my nephew James Baldridge; Joshua son of Thomas Butler; John Stands; grandchildren Elizabeth, Anne and Mary Bayanham, son in law Thomas Butler to be exr.

      Upon petition of Mrs. Sarah Butler the last will of John Butler is proved by John Jones, Elizabeth Pope and 'Charles Baldridge and administration of the estate with the will annext comitted to Sarah Butler, the relict and executrix of John. It is further ordered that on 2 August next John Questenbury, Alexander Gallant and John Jones take a true inventory of the estate of John Butler and apprayse the same.
      John Jones and Alexander Webster doe assume with Sarah Butler in 30,000 pounds of tobacco for the true performance of the contents of the will.
      pp 33a-34 TO ALL XTIAN PEOPLE to whom these presents shall come Bee it Knowne that I RICE HOOE of Stafford County for divers good causes have sold unto FRANCIS HOULT a Certaine Parcell of land lying and being upon the Easterne Branch of PASPOTANZEY CREEKE adjoyning on the Land of CAPT. WM. HEABEARD deced on the North syde and on the Land of CHARLES BALDRIDGE on the West side and adjoyneing upon the Land of JOSHUA GREENE and CHARLES BALARIDGE on ye South side and see with a Straight line along the foure sides along the same syde belonging to the said RICE HOOE to the Swamp on the NE syde which sd parcell of land I the aforesd RICE HOOE doe firmly sell unto the aforesd FRANCIS HOULT his heires for ever To Have and To Hold with all priviledges thereunto belonging from me and my heires forever or from any other clame that any pson or psons may now or hereaftr shall pretend, acknowledging hereby to have reced one man Servant named GEORGE RUSSEL which I the said RICE HOOE doth acknowledge to bee full satisfaction to my content.       This Sale of Land was acknowledged in the County Court of Staffd. by the said RICE HOOE unto the within named FRANCIS HOULT this 9 day of March 1686/7 And then was recorded

HEABEARD late of Stafford County Deced by Deed under his hand and Seale the 14th day of April 1679 and further confirmed by the Last Will and Testament of the said WM. HEABEARD bearing date ye 11th day of Aprill 1679 and proved in Court ye 9th day of July 1679 the said land being given to him ye said WM. HEABEARD by Major RICHARD HEABEARD late of this County Deced by his Last Will and Testamt_ in writeinge beareinge date the 18th day of January 1676 and proved in Court ye 12th of September 1677 the sd Land being granted to ye said R1CHARD HEABEARD by Pattent bearing date ye 31st of March 1660 and renewed againe ye 20th of November 1662 and butted & bounded as followeth Viz near PASBYTANZY CREEKS North West by North by ye land of THOMAS FRISSELL North East and by East. wth ye lande of WM. and JOHN HABEARD South East and by South wth the lands of ROGER PERFITT extending Southwest and by West a mile into ye mains Woods as by ye said Deed several!       p. 103 KNOW ALL MEN by these presents that. 1 WILLIAM HEABEARD of ye County of Stafford have for a valuable consideraccon sold unto CHARLES BALDRIDGE his heires forever all my right and interest of that Tract of land given me by my Brother RICHARD HEABEARD the Pasture Excepted to begin au the line of Mr. DAVID ANDERSONs land and see to run close by the lower end of ye Orchard upon a straight line to the land of mine and my Brother JOHN bounded Easterly upon Mr. WILLIAM GREENE and Southerly upon a pceil of land sold by me to THOMAS FOLIO out of ye same Dividend Westerly upon the land of DAV1D ANDERSON wch said land more or lesse wth ye Plantacon housinge and Orchard thereto belonging doe for me my heires warrant to be good and Lafull for ye use of him the said CHARLES BALDRIDGE and in case of Mortality I doe by these presents appoint in my stead MARTIN SCARLET' to acknoweldge the above said lands in Stafford Court when required.       639. CHARLES BALDRIDGE complaining against RICHARD BRYANT and sheweth that in the month of July last past CHARLES RAROKE of this County deced played at cards with JONATHAN BUCKLEY for a horse and twelve hundred pounds of Tobacco that your Petr went halves with the said Raroke that the said Raroke did win the horse and Twelve hundred pounds of Tobacco that the said Raroke being since dead not having made your petitioner any satisfaction for his share of the said Tobacco and horse Richard Bryant of the said County hath possessed himself of the said Bill for Twelve hundred pounds of Tobacco and the horse and refuses to pay your petr for his half .. Wherefore prays the said horse may be appraised and that he may have Judgment against the said Bryant for half value of the horse and six hundred pounds of Tobacco with costs And the said Richard Bryant came into Court .. prays to be dismissed from the action .. And now forasmuch as Charles Baldridge could not aver Justifie and maintain his action to be
      true as before is alledged against Richard Bryant
      Therefore tis ordered Charles Baldridge shall be freely and fully discharged of the said sum
      p. 227a The Deposition of CHARLES BALDRIDGE aged about thirty four yeares in a Suite dependinge between Mr, JOHN WAUGH Cler. Executor of ye Last Will of Mr. HENRY THOMPSON deced & Capa. WILLIAM DOWNINGE in an action of Debt due by Accompt to ye Estate of ye sd HENRY THOMPSON deced who deposeth & saith that in June last was twelve months hee beinge att ye house of ye said WILLIAM DOWNINGE both bee & MR. THOMPSON did desire him to make up an accompt wch wth many wrangling words betwixt them was done & a bill of Capa. MALACHY PEALE was assigned over to ye said THOMPSON upon ballance and after ye Bill assigned there did seem due to ye said THOMPSON upon ballance Sixty pounds of Tobacco besides a bill of three thousand odde wch odds he doth not justley remember & further saith not as Wittness my hande Juratt in Curia Febry 12th 1691/2 CHARLES BALDRIDGE and was then recorded

      224. Ordered that MARY BALDRIDGE the late widow and Relict of CHARLES BALDRIDGE late of this County deced shall immediately deliver to SARAH HAY the daughter of SARAH NEWTON the wife of JOSEPH NEWTON of this County all the wearing apparel which did of Right belong to the said Sarah Hay at the death of Charles Baldridge and doth now remain in the possession and custody of Mary Baldridge as aforesaid.

      236. WILLIAM HEABERD of this County humbly complaining sheweth that Capt. WM. HEABERD your petrs Uncle late of this County deced did by his Last will and Testament leave a considerable Estate unto your petr which Estate together with the Tuition and Guardianship of your Petr was left by the said Capt. HEABERD to the care and in the hands of CHARLES BALDRIDGE in this County late deced which said Estate both Real and Personal was according to the will of your Petrs deced Uncle to be delivered unto your Petitioner when he came to the age of fourteen years But now soe it is may it please your worships that the said Baldridge in his life time some few months since delivered unto your Petr some part of the said Personal Estate and did likewise by several contracts and bargains with your petr being young and not capable of bargains or contracting for any part of the said Estate clandestinely take away from your Petr the most of what he had reced and now may it please your worships your Petr being come to the full age of fourteen years humbly prays your worships that he may be possessed with the said real Estate as also the Remainder of the Personal which he hath not received as also of the deeds and other writings concerning the Land left to your Petr by your Petrs deced Unkle and other bills due to your Petr now in the Custody of MARY BALDRIDGE widow and Relict of the said Baldridge deced.
      And the Court having fully Throughly and maturely considered the Premises doe accordingly order Therefore tis ordered that the said Mary Baldridge shall at the next Court render up an account of the Personal Estate belonging to the said William Heaberd orphan as aforesaid and shall also then and there produce all manner of bills bonds obligations and all other Papers that doe any way Relate or belong to the said Orphan as afsd.

      granted to MARY BALDRIDGE the widow and Relict of the said Charles Baldridge provided she give good Security and enter into bond to perform what the Law requires touching her said deced husbands Estate. Mr. JOHN WAUGH and JOHN MATTHEWS became Security with her to perform what the Law requires touching her said deced husbands Estate.
      Ordered that GEORGE LODGE, JOHN GRIGSBY and JOHN HAWKIN shall between this and-the-next-Court appraise the Estate of Charles Baldridge deced and that Dr. Edwd. Maddocks swear them accordingly,
