      do assign and set over all my right title and interest of five
      hundred acres of land (formerly assigned by John Bennett)
      unto Thomas Broughton his heirs and assignees forever
      which said land is by pattent per record bearing date 29th of
      October 1651, witness my hand 21st of November 1655.

      Know all men by these presents that I Richard Clare
      for and in consideration of my love and affection I bear unto
      John Ashton son unto Charles Ashton I give unto the said
      John Ashton one cow calf of a brown color marked the right
      ear cropt and under keeled and a slit in the crop the left ear
      cropt and under keeled, the said John Ashton for to have
      and to hold the said calf with her increase forever, Witness
      my hand the 20th of May 1654.
