Iím still following up on the Allied Lee Family of the Condonís and I have found two Colonial Condon immigrants to Maryland .

From Passenger and Immigration Lists Index Supplement 2008; sources credited to Irish Emigrants in North America Part Six, by David Dobson.

Condon, John from Ireland to Maryland in 1679.

Itís possible that this is the forebear of the brothers David and Richard Condon in Prince George ís County, Maryland as opposed to the David Condon who died in Virginia .

I found out that there was a Barony of Condon in Ireland and the name David Condon was a very popular one.

The second later immigrant (too late for my family) was Condon, Richard from Ireland to Annapolis , Maryland in 1746.

Now that name is going to cause confusion because of the earlier Prince George ís County Richard Condon (d by 1749) and his descendants.

Iím very pleased to share this info with you, and I think I have a record of that John Condon in Maryland , but his name was transcribed as Candle. I have yet to determine if there really was a Candle Family or if the Condonís just had strong Irish accents! Best to you! Kayla.

Up-Date! Due to a transcription error by Keddie, David Condon was misidentified. Richard Condon was the father of the seven Condon children.
From Abstracts of the Administration Accounts of the Prerogative Court of Maryland 1737-1744 compiled by VL Skinner, Jr., 1997. The record reads:

      David Candle 20.529 A PG L329.12.8 L398.0.6 Oct 16 1744
Received from: Jos. Belt, Mark Webb, William Robinson, Mareen Duvall, John Trundle, John Hopworth.
Payments to: William Davis, Dr. John Sprigg, John Magruder, David Crawford, Ann Riston, Nathaniel Magruder, Francis Rimer.
Legatees: Ambrose Cook & James Lee (who married daughters of RICHARD CANDLE), rest of children (unnamed) of Richard Candle (brother).
      Distribution to: widow.
      Executrix: Elisabeth Candle (widow).
