      Charles County Land Records 1782-1786; Liber Z#3; Page 251. Feb 28, 1786 from John Beavin and Mary, his wife, of CC, to Charles Brandt and Martha, his wife, of CC. Whereas the sd John Beavin and Charles Brandt, in right of their sd wives, are seized of part of 4 tracts of land in CC, which lands James Wood, late of CC, died possessed of, namely, part of Holneby, containing 170-1/2 acres, part of Reading, 81-1/2 acres, part of Poddy, 26 acres, and part of Notingham, 6 acres, and to which parts of tracts of land the sd John Beavin and Charles Brandt, in right of their sd wives, near one and the same right, title, and claim, and being willing the same should, in their lifetime, be equally divided between them, have mutually agreed and caused the sd land to be resurveyed and divided into 2 equal parts, now know that the sd John Beavin and Mary, his wife, for the agreement afd and for 5 , release to sd Charles Brandt and Martha, his wife, all their, sd John Beavin and Mary, his wife's right to the east moiety or one half part of sd parts of tracts of land, except a mill seat which is bounded by the Mill Branch at a stake in the given line of Redding, Mingoes Branch. It is likewise to be understood that this division is not to effect the land at present held by Margaret Wood, widow of the sd Wood, nor the one third part of Paddy.
