      I, Oliver Burch of CC being weak of boy but of sound and perfect understanding and memory
      To son Justinian, all that part of the land between my main Mill Branch and a branch called Bowlings Branch (excepting what is now enclosed by the fence of the plantation on which I now dwell) and bounded by the Bryant Town Road as it now runs, together with one half of the Water Grist Mill, after his mother's death, one Negro man now in his possession named Gerard, and one good feather bed and furniture.
      To two grandsons by [son] Richard, Walter and Richard, all the land from the Main Branch by Nicholas Ware's Tenement to the upper bound tree of a tract of land called "Churchover," then to the sixth and last bound tree of the said land, with all that part of "Burches Reserve" which lies on the east side of Bowlings Branch to the main road, with this condition only, that their father and mother have the use of the said land during their natural lives to work as they shall think proper for their own use; and my will is that my executors pay unto my son Richard 30 pounds Maryland Currency out of my estate in such things as may suit him; I also give him two cows and their increase and a feather bed and furniture, all of which he now has in his possession.
      To son Walter, one Negro woman named Sarah and her increase, with one good feather bed and furniture, all of which he has now in his possession.
      To son Henry, all the land belonging to me which is not already mentioned, and shall not hereafter be disposed of in this my will, together with one half of the Water Grist mill after his mother's death; one Negro man named Sambo, one mulatto woman named Mary Magdalene, one cherry desk, and one large looking glass, provided and with this express exception, that his mother have her life and his sister Kezia her single life in the land on which I now live; I also give him two horses and one feather bed and furniture, which he now has in his possession.
      To my grandson Joseph Kerrick, a parcel or tract of manor land called "Baggets Boot," containing 82 acres, now rented to and occupied by a certain James Moore.
      To daughter Millisent, one Negro woman named Clara, one feather bed and furniture.
      To daughter Agnes, one Negro woman named Jane and her two daughters Martha and Minta with their increase, and one feather bed and furniture, all of which she now has in her possession.
      To daughter Kezia, two Negroes Sara and Winifred by name, one feather bed and furniture, one desk and bookcase, one pewter dish, one pewter basin, and 6 pewter plates, and I will that she have her single life in the plantation on which I now dwell.
      To wife Ann, all the remainder of my estate not already mentioned and otherwise disposed of, real and personal, during her natural life, after her death my will is my surviving children share equally the personal estate left by her.

      1781 - "There is a bill of sale dated June 19, 1795, and recorded in Prince George's Co., Md. (JRM No. 3, 1794, folio 548), confirming a gift in the year 1781 by Oliver Burch of Charles Co. unto his grandson Oliver Barron, of one Negro called Tom."

      Comment: This record establishes that Samuel Cooksey Barron and his wife Millicent Burch (dau. of Oliver Burch) had a son Oliver Barron. This is particularly important because when Samuel Cooksey Barron made his Nov. 1788 will in Prince George's Co., Md., he named 9 children but not son Oliver. Liber JRM No. 3 contains the 1794-1795 Prince George's Co., Md. Land Records.

      July 1793 - Benjam Burch signs receipt to Daniel Caffrey and wife, administrators of the estate of Samuel Cooksey Barron. The contents of the receipt are illegible but it is presumably a receipt for Benjamin's wife Rebecca's share of the estate of her father Samuel Cooksey Barron. This receipt is immediately followed on the same page by receipts to Daniel Caffrey and wife by James Barron and Francis Barron of their shares of their father Samuel Cooksey Barron's estate.
