Elizabeth Parker/Packer - There is no direct proof but circumstantial evidence indicates that Elizabeth Parker/Packer, the only daughter of Edward Parker/Packer [Sr.] and his wife Elizabeth, m. James Tyre of Charles Co., and that they were the parents of son Bowles Tyre who was b. in Charles Co. no later that 1678. Bowles Tyre was the eldest son of James Tyre and is called “grandson” in the Oct. 1695 will of Mrs. Elizabeth Parker/Packer Young. Sources: (1) Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. 2, p. 100, and (2) Maryland Prerogative Court, Testamentary Proceedings, Liber 20, p. 31. Mrs. Elizabeth Parker/Packer Tyre was deceased by Sep. 1680 for by that date James Tyre had m. his 2nd wife Rebecca _____ and they were already the parents of James Tyre [Jr.] Source: Maryland Calendar of Wills, Vol. 1, p. 123, and Vol. 2, p. 16. The missing link in this proposed chain of events is that no record has been found of the young Elizabeth between Jan. 3, 1669/70, when she is mentioned in her brother Edward Parker [Jr.’s] will, and Sep. 1680, by which date she was deceased. Dr. Lois G. Carr in her “Men’s Career Files” estimates that Elizabeth m. James Tyre [Sr.] ca. 1675, which seems reasonable. Papenfuse’s “Biographical Dictionary of the Maryland Legislature” suggests a less likely but possible scenario, namely, that Mrs. Elizabeth Parker/Packer Young had a dau. Rebecca Young by her 2nd husband Nicholas Young, and that Rebecca was the only wife of James Tyre [Sr.] James Tyre [Sr.] d. by Sep. 11, 1686 in Charles Co., Md. Sources: (1) Maryland Prerogative Court, Testamentary Proceedings, Liber 13, p. 406, and (2) Maryland Prerogative Court, Inventories & Accounts, Liber 9, p. 300. After James died, his widow Rebecca m. Robert Yates.
