      I, Sarah Fowke of CC being sick and weak but of sound mind memory and understanding
      To grandson James Robertson, my silver sniff box, and my mourning ring which I now wear.
      To granddaughter Ann Robertson, negro Sukey, and it is my will and desire that she shall not be sold or disposed of out of this state.
      To grandson James Fowke, negro Isaac, and if he dies before age, then to grandson Gerard Fowke.
      To granddaughter Sarah Fowke (the daughter of Gerard Fowke) negro Molly and her future increase except her first child (if she has one) to my granddaughter Catharine Fowke.
      To granddaughter Catharine Fowke, my reading chair, one bed and furniture and a gold ring.
      To grandson Richard Fowke, negro Bill, Sukey's youngest child, and if he should die before age, then to my grandson Robert Fowke.

      father of the sd Roger and Gerard, of CC, decd, and to every part thereof lying in CC, adjoining Burdits Cr, and commonly called from the other lands of sd Gerard Fowke decd, by the appellation of the Burdits Creek Lands, excepting that part of sd lands hereafter mentioned, that is to say, 50 acres of the land to be laid off by beginning at the bound white oak, the boundary of John Robertson of the land sd Roberson bought of sd Gerard Fowke decd standing near the main road leading from Nanjemoy Warehouse to the place commonly called the Trap and near William Franklin's gate next to the sd Trap, running from sd white oak with a straight line to sd Cr so as to leave 50 acres annexed to the mill seat and joining the land of John Robertson and on the same side of sd land on which that land lies, commonly called the Trap Land, which sd 50 acres is meant to remain to sd Gerard Fowke, and that an acknowledgement be made by the wife of the sd Gerard Fowke of the lands and premises afd, meant as afd, to be conveyed to sd Roger Fowke_ Signed - Gerard Fowke. wit - M.J, Stone, W.H. Sep 7, 1786 from Roger Fowke of CC, planter, and Sarah, his wife, to John Hoskins Stone of CC, Merchant, Whereas sd Roger Fowke, by a deed dated Sep 4, 1786, made between him and sd Stone, sold to sd Stone, 215 acres, being part of a tract of land called Burdits Rest, which deed was acknowledged on sd Sep 4 by sd Roger Fowke before Robert Hanson Harrison, one of the Judges of the General Court of Maryland, and is now in the Clerk's Office of CC, but the same was not acknowledged by the sd Sarah, the wife of the ad Roger Fowke, whereby the land contained therein might be subject to the dower of the sd Sarah in case she should survive sd Roger Fowke, her husband. Now this deed witnesses that the sd Roger Fowke and Sarah, his wife, have ratified and confirmed to sd John Hoskins Stone, all the right that they have to the afd 215 acres. To have and to hold for the use of my daughter Sally, 2 years old, and of such other children as I hereafter may have by my wife, Sarah, for and during the joint lives of myself and of my sd wife, and if my sd wife Sarah should survive me, then in trust and for the joint use of my sd children and of my sd wife, for and during her life, and after her death, then for the joint use and benefit of all the children I may have by my sd wife Sarah, and their legal representatives.       Gerrard Fowke, John Robertson and John Chapman Jr., by these presents do severally give grant confirm and make over unto mistress Sarah Fowke, widow all the right title and property to negro Anne now in the possession of Roger Fowke without any other consideration but the natural affecton we have and bear to her.       At the request of Thomas H. Reeder the following Lease was recorded August 22, 1804
      Memorandum of an agreement made and concluded this August 17, 1804 between Roger Fowke and Thomas H. Reeder. Witnesseth that Roger Fowke in consideration of 120 dollars paid by Thomas Harrison Reeder has leased the plantation {"Birds Creek"} where he now resides also negroes John (50 yrs.), Allen (21 yrs.), Milly (20 yrs.), Rachel (19 yrs.0, Chlo (14 yrs.), Sarah (12 yrs.), John (10 yrs.), Jesse (4 yrs.), negro child (6 months), Daphney (lame) (45 yrs.), Ann (lame) (38 yrs.) and George (3 yrs.); for and during the term of 6 years commencing January 1, 1805 and to expire January 1, 1811. Thomas H. Reeder also to reserve to Roger Fowke the dwelling house, kitchen and garden and as many small negroes as may be considered sufficient for waiters, a horse to ride for which the said Roger Fowke obliges himself to pay Thomas H.
