      100 acres of land called Cuckold's Rest, home of Thomas Hide at the time of his death lying in Calvert County, now Prince George's County, according to his will written 8 Feb 1697 made Joannah Hide, execx.; he left this land to his wife during her natural life, then to be divided between his two daughters, Mary and Elizabeth. The Widow Hide married Bartholomew Goff and daughter Elizabeth married Robert Johnson; no further mention of Mary Hide. Elizabeth sold 1/2 of the land to Joshua Cecell for 1,700 pounds of good tobacco

      I Elizabeth Charters of PGCo, widow, as well for the indemnifying and saving harmless Paul Talbott, planter, and from the bond in the penal sum of 500 pounds current money which he stand bound with me for my administration of the estate of my deceased husband Thomas Charters and in consideratioin of the sum and of a reasonable maintenance at her dwelling house where she now lives during her natural life and for divers other good causes and considerations me hereunto moving. Hath sold and transferred unto Paul Talbott, Negroes Flora, her son Robert (2 yrs.), and her daughter (3 weeks); 19 cattle, 15 hogs, 15 sheep, 1 plow horse, 1 mare and colt, 2 beds and furniture, 1 trunk, 1 oval table, 6 flag bottom chairs, 1 ten canter, 71 pounds of pewter, 1 iron pestle, 2 chests, 2 pair of fire tongs and shovel, 1 small gilded trunk, 2 horse bells, 2 stone jugs, 2 stone butter pots, 1 iron box, 11 pound in cash in paper and silver as also the sum of 8 pounds current money and 2980 pounds of tobacco due and owing to me from Joseph Johnson and also 20 shillings due and owing from Francis Pile as by their accounts. And I have appointed Paul Talbott to be my lawful attorney; provided that if Elizabeth Charters save and keep harmless Paul Talbott then the above obligation shall be utterly void and of no effect. In witness I have hereunto set my hand and seal this June 24, 1756, Elizabeth Charters, in the presence of Joseph Belt, Jr., John Reid Magruder and acknowledged before Joseph Belt, Jr.,
