      To eld. son Thomas Truman and hrs., 2354 A., "Trent Neck," "Stoke Bardolph," "Arcadia" and "Greenfield's Discovery," provided he conform to this will and his mother's desire touching lands descended to her by the death of her brother Kenhelm Chiseldyne; should sd. son Thomas or any of his hrs. molest, sue for and recover lands descended to his mother to detriment of son Kenhelm or hrs., then sd. son Kenhelm and hrs. shall be vested in a good and sure estate in Fee Tail as expressed to son Thomas of, in and to "Trent Neck" bought of the then Lord Baltimore and also in afsd. tracts. Son Thomas to take no benefit of this will, except what was had from uncle Thomas Truman, esq., i. e., in 1210 A. in "Trent Neck," "The Wedge," "Refuse," "Backland," "Snenton" and "The Inclosure;" sd. son Thomas dying without issue sd. lands to pass to son Kenhelm and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to son Gerard and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to son Walter and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to son Nathaniel and hrs., and in default of such hrs., to son James and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to dau. Mariamne Truman Stoddart and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to dau. Sabina and hrs., and in default of such hrs. to right male hrs. of testator.
      To son Kenhelm Truman Greenfield and hrs., "Trumans Hope," "Scegby," 150 A. bought of mother, "Saint Margaret's Island", and 1/3 of the lands his uncle Kenhelm Cheslldyne died possessed of, and in default of such hrs. to descend as directed in preceding paragraph.

      Testator states that some yrs. ago having agreed to sell to John Adams of Charles Co. a tract known as "Mount Olivet” for consideration of 3000 lbs. tob. and £20, of which was paid £5 and 1200 lbs. tob., wills that sd. Adams or his hrs. have the land on same terms, residue of payment to be included in personal estate, if he or they do not accept these terms money paid to be refunded to sd. Adams, and sons James, Nathaniel, Walter, Gerard, Kenhelm and Thomas and daus. Mariamne and Sabina hold sd. land successively.
      To dau. Mariamne Truman Stoddert and hrs., 15,000 lbs. tob. to be paid out of profits of lands, provided books do not show such sum as paid to her or her husband before consummation of will.
      To son Nathaniel Truman Greenfield and hrs., "Cooek's Hope," Charles Co.
      To each of child. (dau. Mariamne excepted), 16,000 lbs. tob. or value thereof. Dau. Sabina to receive portion at age of 16, or day of marriage, sons as they arrive to age of 21 yrs.

      To brother James, personalty, 2/3s. personal estate to be divided between young. dau. and six sons. Should sons or daus. or their hrs. or descendants marry a Roman Catholls, or themselves embrace that religion, neither they or any of them to have any benefits from this will, and whatever is bequesthed them to revert to next Protestant heir. Disputes arising as to interpretation of this will to be referred to decision of trustees, intention of testator being that lands shall pass from one to another in the same order as herein set down, in case of want of lawful issue, tho' the sd. child. had different mothers.

      From: CHARLES GREENE of Kings Lynn, Co. of Norfolk, England, apothecary, and ELIZABETH his wife, daughter of JAMES TRUMAN, late of Maryland, deceased.
      To: THOMAS GREENFIELD, gent., Province of Maryland Price: 140 pounds sterling
      Property: About 1169 acres of land being one-third of the following tracts inherited by ELIZABETH, the wife of CHARLES GREENE: 1) JAMES TRUMAN bequeathed one-third of a tract, 750 acres, called "Indian Creeke with Addition" to his wife Anne TRUMAN, and two-thirds to his daughters MARTHA TRUMAN, MARY TRUMAN, and ELIZABETH TRUMAN, in equal shares. Anne TRUMAN and her second husband ROBERT SKINNER, then conveyed all their one-third part to the three daughters above, equally. 2) NATHANIEL TRUEMAN owned several tracts including a 130 acre parcel called "Truemans Hills," which he bequeathed to his three nieces, Anne TRUMAN, MARY TRUMAN, and ELIZABETH TRUMAN. 3) THOMAS TRUMAN owned several tracts including 375 acres called "Trumans Choyce Deminished," 300 acres called "Retalliation," 150 acres called "Addition," 200 acres called "Mazoonscon," 110 acres called "Barrens," 162 acres called "The Goores," 75 acres called "Newton " 28 acres called "Prevention," 100 acres called "Purchase," 400 acres called "Trumans Lott," 95 acres called "Trumans Chance," 127 acres called "Trumans Hope," 50 acres called "Wolves Den," 300 acres called "Nottingham," 500 acres called "Trumans Aquaintance," all of which he bequeathed by his will of 1685 to his nieces MARY TRUMAN, ELIZABETH TRUMAN, now the wife of the above mentioned CHARLES GREENE, and to THOMAS TRUMAN, the eldest son of the above mentioned THOMAS GREENFIELD, in equal shares.

      This Indenture Tripartite made this twenty Second day of March in the Year of our Lord one Thousand Seven hundred and forty nine Between Kenelm Trueman Greenfield of Saint Marys County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the first part John Estep of Charles County in the Province afsd Planter of the Second part and Robert Swann of Ann Arundel County Merchant of third part Witnesseth that for & in Consideration of the Sum of five Pounds Current Money to the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield in hand paid by the said John Estep at or before the Sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof he the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield doth hereby Acknowledge and thereof and therefrom doth hereby release Acquit and Discharge the said John Estep his Heirs Executors and Adm.rs and for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Pounds Current Money by the said Robert Swann to the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield in hand paid before the Sealing hereof the receipt of which is also hereby Acknowledged and for the Docking Barring and Extinguishing all Estates Tail and all Reversions and Remainders thereon expectant or depending of and in the Lands Tenements and Hereditaments herein after mentioned he the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said Robert Swann (in the Actual Possession of the Lands Tenem.ts and Hereditaments herein after mentioned now being by Virtue of a Bargain and Sale to him thereof made by the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield for five Shillings Consideration by Indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these Presents for the Term of one whole Year commencing from the day the day of the date thereof and by Force of the Statute for Transferring Uses into Possession and to his Heirs all those Tracts or Parcels of Plantable Land all Situate lying and being in Saint Marys County afsd following to wit Trent Neck containing Six hundred Acres of Land more or less The Wedge containing Seventy five Acres of Land more or less The Refuse containing one hundred and forty Acres of Land more or less Backland containing one hundred & Seventy five Acres of Land more or less, Suenton containing one hundred Acres of Land more or less and the Inclosure containing one hundred and ten Acres of Land more or less all which Several Tracts of Land were reduced into one entire Tract by Patent of Confirmation heretofore granted unto Thomas Trueman Greenfield late of Saint Marys County afsd bearing date the Tenth day of September in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and sixteen and called Trent Neck containing two Thousand three hundred fifty and four Acres of Land more or less lying and being in Saint Marys County afsd with the Appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits of the said Lands Tenements & Premisses with their and every of their Appurtenances and all the Estate Right Title Interest Use Trust Property Possession Claim and Demand whatsoever both at Law and in Equity of him the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield of in or to the said Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premisses or any part of them and all Deeds Writings and Evidences concerning the said Premisses or any part of them To have and to hold all and singular the said Lands Tenements Hereditaments & Premisses hereby Granted and Released ^or mentioned or intended to be Granted and released^ with their and every of their Appurtenances unto the said John Estep his Heirs and Assigns to and for the Use and behoof of him the said Robert Swann his Heirs and Assigns forever to the Intent and Purpose that he the said Robert Swann may be perfect Tenant of the Freehold of the said Premisses that a Common Recovery May be had and suffered against him in such manner as is herein after mentioned And for that Purpose it is Covenanted & agreed by and between all the said parties to these Presents that before the end of next April Term or some other ensuing Term at the Costs and Charges of the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield one or more Writ or Writs of Entry Sur Disseisin en le post shall and may be brought commenced and Prosecuted out of his Lordships High Court of Chancery returnable and to be returned before his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court at Annapolis in the Name of the said John Estep as Plaintiff a Demandant against the said Robert Swann as Tenant whereby the said John Estep shall demand against the said Robert Swann the said Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premisses herein before granted & released or mentioned or intended so to be with their and every of their Appurtenances by such Apt and Convenient Names and Discriptions as shall be thought proper to ascertain the same to which Writ the said Robert Swann shall appear Gratis in his own proper Person or by his Attorney or Attorneys lawfully Authorized and Shall Vouch to Warrant the same Premisses the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield who shall appear Gratis in his own proper Person or by his Attorney or Attorneys lawfully Authorized and enter into the said Warranty ^& Vouch over to warrant the same Premisses the Common Vouchee of the same Court who shall there upon appear center into the said Warranty^ and after Imparlance make default and depart in Contempt of the Court so that one or more common Recovery or Recoverys shall and may be had and Suffered of the said Premisses with proper Judgments to be thereupon given and Executions Awarded according to the Course of Common Recoverys for Assurance of Lands and Tenements in like Cases used and Accustomed And it is hereby Declared and Agreed by and between all the said parties to these PResents that from and after the suffering and perfecting the said Recovery or Recoverys as well these Presents and the Assurance hereby made as also the Common Recovery or Recoverys so as afd or in any other manner or at any other time or times had or Suffered or to be had or Suffered by or between the said parties to these Presents or any of them their or any of their Heirs and all and every other common Recovery or Recoverys Fines Conveyances and Assurances in the Law whatsoever already had made levyed Suffered or Executed or hereafter to be had made levyed suffered or Executed of the said Lands Tenements Hereditaments and Premisses or any part thereof by or between the said parties to these Presents or any of them or whereunto they or any of them shall be parties or Privies shall be and enure and shall be Adjudged deemed Construed and taken and are and were meant and intended and are hereby Declared to be and enure and the Recoveror and Recoverors in the said Recovery or Recoverys named or to be named and his and their Heirs shall stand and be Seised of the said Lands Tenements Hereditaments & Premisses and every part thereof to and for the only proper Use and behoof of the said Kenelm Trueman Greenfield and of his Heirs and Assigns for ever and to and for no other Use Intent or Purpose whatsoever In Witness
