      TO ALL TO WHOM these presents shall come, I GEORGE MASON of the County of STAFFORD in Virginia, Gent., send Greeting in our Lord God everlasting this first day of May and in the Sixth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord and Lady, King William and Queen Mary over England &c., and in the year of our Lord 1694. NOW KNOW ye that I GEORGE MASON of the County abovesaid for diverse good causes but more especially for the sum of Twelve thousand pounds of good tobacco to me in hand paid by EDWARD SMITH of the same County for the use and on the acct. of Mr. MARTIN SCARLET of the same County, the Receipt whereof I do acknowledge and thereof do forever discharge the said SCARLETT his heirs from every part thereof, have granted & confirmed from me my heirs & assigns unto the aforesaid MARTIN SCARLETT his heirs or assigns for ever a certain parcell of land lying on the Freshes and North side of Rappa River being by estimation Three hundred thirty and seven and half acres of land which said Land was sold by Mr. JOHN FOSAKER unto the abovesaid GEORGE MASON and adjoining to the Plantation where the sd FOSAKER now dwelleth as may more at large appear by the sd FOSAKER sale to the said MASON bearing date the 28th day of March Ninety two on Richmond Court Records, And Mr. WM. MOSELEYs Survey made at the instance and proper costs and charges of the said GEORGE MASON which said Three hundred thirty and seven & half acres as above with all its rights and priviledges benefits thereto belonging with all right & priviledges granted to the said MASON by the said FOSAKER the abovesd SCARLETT his heirs forever; To have and to hld to the only proper use & behoof of him the sd SCARLET-I' his heirs, And further the sd GEO: MASON do for himself his heirs that at all times hereafter the sd SCARLETT his heirs shall forever peaceably possess the abovesd granted premisses without the least molestation of him the said MASON his heirs from the just claim or Interest of any persons whatsoever, And in confirmation of this my act and deed I have hereto sett my hand & seal the day & year above written
