At the request of Roger Fowke of CC, the following deed was recorded this Feb 14, 1725. .
Dec 18, 1725 from Gerrard Fowke & Sarah, his wife, of CC, to Roger Fowke of CC, for 5 shillings and for the natural love they have for their son, Roger Fowke, and for divers other good causes, all that parcel of land, being part of a tract called Burditts Rest, lying in CC near the head of Burditts Cr, containing 329 acres, part of a tract of land formerly taken up by Mr. Thomas Burditt for 700 acres, but by a late survey, contains 916 acres. Also, one other tract of land, being part of a tract called Birds Nest, lying in CC near the head of sd Burditts Cr, containing 226 acres. The 2 parcels of land were originally granted to Mr. Thomas Burdett of CC, deced. Signed - Gerard Fowke, Sarah Fowke. Wit - Wm Stone*, Thomas Stone*. Sarah Fowke relinquished her right of dower in and to the within mentioned land and premises.
