      The Attestacon of ELENOR DORRILL aged 37 yeares or thereabouts sworne saith that she heard SIMON RICHARDSON sweare that he would revenge himselfe on WM. THOMAS and he desired yor, Deponent to tell EDWARD COLEs Wife that the said THOMAS tolld. him that he had had the carnall or familiar use of her and would have it ageine spight of her Husbands teeth or any other mann; And the said RICHARDSON brought in a Clubb in his hand into yor Deponents House and threatned. the said THOMAS wheresoever he mett him, And the said THOMAS boy comeing unto yor: Deponent. the said RICHARDSON tole him that he would fight with his Master wheresoever he mett him, And further saith that the said RICHARDSON came into yor: Depont. & would have given me a Heifer if that I would have defamed Mrs. COLE, she being a woman by whom I never saw any one villify or dishonestly in words or deeds & I answered him that I would not nor could doe ssuch an unjust action, And as for the said THOMAS I never heard him say nor knew that he had the familiar or carnal! use of Mrs. COLE or any other woman whatsoever. and further saith not

      To all etc. whereas etc. Now know you that I Richard
      Bennett Esq. give and grant unto Edward Coles five
      hundred acres of land situated in the County of
      Northumberland upon the [----] most side of Little
      Wicocomoco River and Upon [---] head of a divident of
      land now in the possession of Richard Spann and along the
      said Spann his land Northerly to a branch of the aforesaid
      river and [-] thence along the said branch West South
      West [-] hundred pole to the land ofJames Allen North
      [-----] and by North one hundred and twenty pole and from
      [-----] South West to a marked oak standing on the [-----]

      THIS INDENTURE Wittnessth that JOHN CORBRIL Son to JOHN CORBRILL, late of LONDON, Cleargyman deceased, oath put himself Apprentice to EDWARD COLE of Northumberland in Virginia, Planter, with him to dwell and serve for and dureinge the tyme and space of Thirteene yeares fully to be compleat and ended to commence and beginn from the five and twenty day of November last until the said Thirteen yeares shalbe fully expired dureinge this time the said Apprentice shall doe all such services and imployments as his said Master shall command and appoynt, and it is hereby agreed upon betweene the said parties that the said EDWARD COLE nor his Wife there Executors or Administrators shall not bound out his said Apprentice to any other parson whatsoever and the said Apprentice is to be free act the death of the Longest liver of the said EDWARD COLE or his Wife, and the said EDWARD COLE doth hereby bind himselfe his Executors and Administrators to give and deliver unto his said Apprentice at the end of the said first twelfe yeares one Cow with Calfe and act the end of his tyme one Sow with pggs. one Gunn, one pott, one fryinge pann and axe, one hoe, one flockbead bolster and rugge with double apparill and three barrills of Corne and to the true p:formance hereof the partyes above said doe bind themselves each to other firmly by these presents; In Wittness whereof the parties above said interchangably have put there hands and seales the 20th day of May 1650

      Whereas I was in company wth: Mr. EDW: COLES SENIOR wee came last on this River (at Mr JOHN COCERELLs House) hee sayd that the suspition of Doctor SANDERS & others was that his Wife was under an ill tongue & if it was soe hee concluded yt: it was Mrs NEAL. by reason of imprecations made by her and yt: indeed hee thought soe, but since she came to his House passed over the Horse-shoe nailed at ye boore & prayed so heartily for his Wives recovery, that suspition was gone from him, then speaking of some stories, he said that hee hath layd with Mrs. NEAL, Mrs. MOTTLEY , Mrs WILLDEY & Mrs. SPAN and several' others, this is all that I can remember hee said and if I have changed some words for civilities sake, it is alwaies ye same substance by me, the word is swived.
