Oct. 1790 - Basil Alvey is on the List of St. Mary's Co., Md. voters in the election for members of the U. S. House of Representatives (votes Federalist.)

Oct. 1798 - Basil Alvey lives on a tract of land containing 315 acres owned by Francis X. Shiercliffe and located in Upper New Town Hundred, St. Mary's Co., Md.

Aug. 19, 1818 - "The National Intelligencer," pub. in Washington, D.C. Individuals who perished on Saturday last [Aug. 15] aboard the vessel that floundered in the Potomac: .•. Miss Alvy, dau. of Mr. Basil Alvy, of St. Mary's Co., Md. This occurred near Quantico Creek during a violent storm.

Sep. 21, 1829 - "The National Intelligencer," pub. in Washington, D.C. St. Mary's Co., Md. Court, as a Court of Equity: Aug. Term, 1829. Jeremiah Alvey vs. Henry Alvey & others. Ordered that the report and sale made by Henry Alvey, the trustee for the sale of the real estate of Henry Alvey & others, children & heirs of Basil Alvey, be ratified.
Report states that the land sold for $1,000.
