      THIS INDENTURE made the Twenty second day of January in the year of our Lord God according to the computacon of the Church of England one thousand seven hundred and twenty six, Between WILLM. HANKS of Farnham Parish in County of Richmond. Planter, of one part and THOMAS WHITE of the same Parish and County. Planter, of other- part; witnessed that WM. HANKS in consideracon of the SUM of Five shillings currant money of Virga: to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto THOMAS WHITE and his assigns all that parcell of land scituate in Parish of Farnham and beginning and running, that is to say, Beginning at a white Oak, corner tree between PAUL WOODBRIDGE and HENRY WILSONs Land and running along the DevisionLine of one ALEX NEWMAN and said PAUL WOODBRIDGE to a markt pig hickory corner tree between said WOODBRIDGE and WM. HANKS, late Father of said WM: HANKS party to these presents; thence along a line of markt trees down a vallue to a markt Oak tree near the head of a Branch between the line aforesd. of sd. HANKS of Farnum Parrish in County of Richmond, Planter, of one part, and THOMAS WHITE of same Parrish and County, Planter, of other part: Witnesseth that WILLM. HANKS in consideracon of the sum of Six thousand pounds of tobacco to him in hand paid by THOMAS WHITE, the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge, hath and by these presents doth bargain sell and release unto THOMAS WHITE (in his actuall possession now being by force of a Deed of bargain and sale to him made by WILLM. HANKS and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession) and to his heirs, all that parcell of land scituate in Parrish of Farnum and beginning and running as follows (the bounds of the land and former Patents repeated as in the Lease); To have and to hold the land and premises with appurtenances unto THOMAS WHITE his heirs and WM: HANKS his heirs the land and premises with appurtenances unto THOMAS WHITE his heirs shall for ever warrant and defend as well against WM. Exrs. in consideration of sum of Seventeen hundred pounds of lawfull Lobo. to them in hand paid or secured to be pd., the receipt whereof HESTER HANKS & WILLM. GEFFREYS as by one Deed of conveyance bearing date the Nineteenth day of February Anno Dom 1703/4; may appear, bounded; Begining at a Chesnut standing in ye head of a Branch against the sd, late WILLM. HANKS House & runing down the Branch till it meets with a Swamp, the bounds between JAMES HINES land & sd, WILLIAM's, & thence to a marked Beach standing by ye side of the Run & thence down the Run to the Main Run & along ye Main Run to a marked Maple standing by ye side of the Swamp, being a corner tree at the mouth of a Vale), leading to the Cross Roads, thence up ye Valley to a marked white Oak near the head, thence along a line of marked trees to a Corner marked red Oak, thence up ye Rolling Road to ye first begining, vizt. the Chesnut, wth: all houses together with all right claim & demand of HESTER HANKS & WILLM. HANKS; To have & to hold the land & p:mises unto JOHN WOODBRIDGE his heirs to be holden to the Chief Lord or Lords of the Fees thereof by & under the rents & services for the same due & accustomed to be paid and that it shall be lawfull for JOHN WOODBRIDGE to possess the p:cell of land & all other the premises free & clear from all incumbrances; In Testimony whereof the parties abovesaid have to these presents sett their hands & fixed their seals the day & year first above written
