Feb. 9, 1705/6 - It is the Feb. 9, 1705/6 deed of "Hogg's Quarter" by James Ashbrooke and Elizabeth his wife that suggests that Elizabeth is nee Lambert because she signs the deed as a grantor rather than just waiving her dower right. “Hog’s Quarter” was patented to John Lambert in 1664, and John Lambert had a dau. Elizabeth b. Jan. 1, 1667/8. After James Ashbrook died Elizabeth m. Bartlett and then Purefoy. When Purefoy died the administrator was William Smith and his surety was James Allen. This is another reason for thinking that Elizabeth was nee Lambert, that is, James Allen was the son of John Allen and Eleanor Lambert, the sister of Elizabeth Lambert. So James Allen was a surety for the administration of the estate of Elizabeth's husband Purefoy because he was Elizabeth's nephew.
