Montgomery County Land Records, 1777-1781; Liber A1, Page 576. Bond, recorded at the request of James Perry. We, Basil West and Elisha Green, are bound to James Perry in the sum of 25,000 lbs of merchantable, inspected tobacco at George Town Warehouse, to be paid to sd Perry, which payment truly to be made, we bind ourselves this Jul 11, 1780. Whereas sd Basil West and Elisha Green have sold to James Perry a Negro man, the property of Joseph West, named Bash, for and in consideration that the sd James Perry paying sd West and Green 85 £in gold or silver by next Aug 31, and if not paid by that time, then 92 £10 shillings. If sd Perry pays sd West and Green, and sd West and Green convey sd Negro Bash to sd Perry, then this bond becomes void. Signed - Basil West, Elisha Green. Wit - Richd Wootton, Joseph Wilson.
