To son Thomas Greenfield, remainder of above tract deeded to me by my father Thomas Greenfield.

Indenture made January 23, 1775; Truman Greenfield of St. Mary's County, Maryland, eldest son and heir at law of Thomas Greenfield, deceased of St. Mary's County, Maryland who was the eldest son and heir of Thomas [sic Truman] Greenfield, deceased of St. Mary's County, Maryland who was devisee in tail male of Truman [sic Thomas] Greenfield, deceased hath sold unto Edward Swann of PGCo for 296 pounds sterling money in order to barr the said estate tail and all reversions and remainders thereon by virtue of an act of assembly lately made to convey the same to and vest the fee simple in the lands to the said Edward Swann. This indenture witnesseth that Truman Greenfield in consideration of the premises and the aforesaid sum of money paid by Edward Swann has sold a tract being part of three tracts called "Masooscon", "Addition" and "Retalliation" containing 160 acres and beginning at land in the possession of Leonard Waring and the northernwestmost corner or 2nd boundary of part of the said tract sold and conveyed by Truman Greenfield to John Lawson Brightwell and bounded by the place where the main road crosses the branch being the corner of the land now belonging to Josias Hawkins, Ruderfoot's Branch, and land now in the possession of John Beaden s/o Thomas. Signed Truman Greenfield in the presence of and acknowledged before Henry G. Sothorn, Henry Tubman (JP's of St. Mary's County, Maryland) and at the same time Susannah Greenfield w/o Truman Greenfield

Indenture made January 23, 1774; Truman Greenfield of St. Mary's County, Maryland, eldest son and heir at law of Thomas Greenfield, deceased of St. Mary's County, Maryland who was the eldest son and heir of Truman Greenfield, deceased of St. Mary's County, Maryland who was devisee in tail male of Thomas Greenfield and in consideration of 231 pounds 5 shillings sterling money in order to barr the said estate tail and all reversions and remainders thereon by virtue of an act of assembly lately made to convey the same to and vest the fee simple in the lands to the said John Lawson Brightwell. This indenture witnesseth that Truman Greenfield in consideration of the premises and the aforesaid sum of money paid by Edward Swann has sold a tract being part of three tracts called "Masooscon", "Addition" and "Retalliation" containing 125 acres and beginning at a bounded white oak above land now in the possession of John Beaden s/o Thomas and bounded by land now in the possession of Leonard Waring.. Sothorn, Henry Tubman (JP's of St. Mary's County, Maryland) and at the same time Susannah Greenfield w/o Truman Greenfield relinquished her right of dower
