THIS INDENTURE made the 28th day of June in the yeare of our Lord 1686 and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord James the second &c. Between THO. PAYNE of the County of MIDLESEX, Planter, and MARY his Wife of the one part and TOBIAS MICHELBURG of the said County of the other part Witnesseth now this Indenture that the sd THO: PAYNE and MARY his Wife for a certain sum of Tobb: to them in hand paid by these presents granted unto the sd TOBIAS MICLEBURG his heires and assigns one hundred acers of land being in Rappa. County and adjoyning to severall tracts of Mr. HENRY SMITH, Mr. THO: BOWLER deced, Beginning at a decayed marked red Oake standing upon the side of the bank of the River, thence running through part of an old field joyning on land of the sd BOWLER alonge a line of marked trees into the woods to the POPLAR NECK SWAMP and up the sd Swamp its several! courses and distances to a Spring Branch and up the sd Branch to a Plantation belonging to the sd THO: PAYNE, thence joyning to the sd Plantation alonge the edge of the cleare ground thereof to a line of marked trees joyning on the land of the sd Majr. SMITH, thence along the sd line down the River to a large marked red Oake standing on the Bank of the River and so alonge the River side to the First specified place Together with all profitts whatsoever thereunto belonging in as large manner as is expressed in the original Pat: granted for the whole divident of Three hundred acers of land whereof this parcel' is a part sold to the sd TOBIAS MICKLEBURG for one hundred acers more or less To have and to hold all the sd moietie or parcell of land with all the premisses for the proper use and behoofe of the sd TOBIAS MICKLEBURG for ever and the sd THO: PAYNE and MARY his Wife do promise and warrant by these presents against all persons claiming any title or interest in the aforesd. land and further promise with the said TOBIAS MICKLEBURG his heires that they will within the space of seven yeares at the request of the sd TOBIAS MICKLEBURG make any such other acts as by his or their councell learned in the Law shall be reasonably required In Witness whereof the parties have sett their hands and fixed their seales

THIS INDENTURE made the Eighteenth day of Decr: in the year of our Lord 1686 and in the second yeare of the Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord James the second &c. Between THO: PAYNE of the County of MIDLESEX, Planter, of the one part and EDWARD ADCOCK of the County of Rappa: Gent. of the other part Witnesseth that the sd THO: PAYNE for the sum of Three thousand pounds of good bright merchantable Tobb: and caske to him paid have sold to him the said EDWARD ADCOCK his heires all that parcel! of land commonly called knowne by the name of the GORE OF THE SMOCK scituate and being on the North East side of the lands of Majr. HENRY SMYTH his Orphans and likewise up and long the Swamp that makes the GOAR OF THE SMOCK to a branch that extendeth out of the sd Swamp near South West and up the sd Branch to a marked white Oake, thence neer the same Course to a marked Poplar, thence dew Southwest to the end of the Mile, this being the lowermost bounds and devided from a Great Tract of land of the sd THOMAS PAYNEs the sd land conteyning Fifty acers by estimation be it more or less To have and to hold the sd parcel! of land together with all woods waters profitts and appurtenances to him the sd EDWARD ADCOCK his heires forever Also his due share of all mines and mineralls together with free liberty of ingress and regress to and from the sd land and any part thereof he the sd EDWARD ADCOCK his heires discharging the quit rents that shall become payable for the sd land from the date hereof and the sd THOMAS PAYNE do for himself his heires agree that the sd land is free and cleare from all former or other incumbrances whatsoever and grant with the sd EDWARD ADCOCK forever hereafter may quietly possess and enjoy the sd land without the hindrance of the sd THO: PAYNE his heires or any persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the sd parties have set their hands and seales

BE IT KNOWN to all men by these presents that I THO: PAYNE of the County of Midlesex, Plantr, do owe and stand justly indebted unto EDWARD ADCOCK of the County of Rappa: Gent,, his heirs in the neat quantitie of Six thousand pounds of good sound sweet sented Tobb: and caske to be paid convenient to landing in the sd County of Rappa. the which payment I bind myself as Witness my hand and seale this Eighteenth day of December 1686
The Condicon of this obligation is such that if the above bound THOMAS PAYNE his heirs do fulfill and keep all the covinants which on his part ought to be kept by one Deed of Indenture bearing date with these presents and that the said THOMAS PAYNE and MARY his Wife either of themselves or Attorney make appearance at the next Court to be holden for the County of Rappa: and shall both of them make acknowledgement of the sd Deed in Court to the above mencioned EDWARD ADCOCK without fraud or further delay then this obligation to be void or else to remaine in full force
