Anne's will was written on March 1, 1791, and was probated December 18, 1798, in Fairfax County, Virginia.
I Ann Slaughter of the County of Fairfax, widow and relict of Thomas Slaughter, decd of perfect sence and memory and of a sound and disposing mind
Item, I give to my daughter Mary Ann Seymour Slaughter, negroes Robert, Cate, Judy, Henne, Aaron, Ben, Gailes, Harry, Jen, Joseph, Daniel and Prince; all my stock of cattle, sheep, hoggs and horses except one mair colt, all my household and kitchen furniture. but if my daughter should be entitled to and put unto the possession of one equal part with her sisters of the land after my death then the negroes, stock, furniture and property given to her shall be equally divided between my three daughters Elizabeth Brent Hamersly, Eleanor Clifton Reeder and Mary Ann Seymour Slaughter
Item, I give to my daughter Elizabeth Brent Hamersly, a toitoir shell snuff box and a plain gold ring.
Item, I give to my daughter Eleanor Clifton Reeder, negro girl Synthia now in her possession and 1 copper skillet.

Charles County Land Records 1792-1796; Liber N#4; Page 534. Feb 12, 1796 from Francis Hamersley of St, Mary's County, to Joseph Turner of the County afd, for 400 £, part of 2 tracts of land, now and for some time past occupied by Margaret Wilder, the one part in CC called Bowden, supposed to contain 166 acres, and the parcel lying in St. Mary's County called Boswell, supposed to contain 30 acres. Signed - F. Hamersley. Wit - E. Plowden, J. Walker (St. Mary's County JPs). This deed was acknowledged in St. Mary's County; Elizabeth, wife to sd Francis Hamersley, relinquished her right of dower. Recorded Mar 9, 1796.
