341. JAMES PRICE the son of JAMES PRICE late of this County deced humbly complaining sheweth that for some time your Petitioner lived with Mr. JOSEPH NEWTON who married with your Petitioners mother in which time he put him to very hard Labour beyond his ability which he being noe longer able to endure went away from him and Lived with a kinsman who used him very well but the said Newton by fair persuasions and upon Pretence of better usage and giving him a years schooling brought him away from his kinsman and there keeps him in his Employment not taking that care to give him Learning according to his Promise where-fore your Petitioner is forced to make his addresse to your worships as the father of orphans to consider his case and either to compel the said Newton to perform his promise made as afsd or that he may be at Liberty to chase his guardian he being 18 years of age next April the premises considered your Petitioner as in duty bound shall pray etc.
And the Court having fully and maturely considered the Premises and James Price orphan as afsd coming into Court and declaring that he would be content and rest satisfied with his Liberty from the said Joseph Newton, his father in Law, and that his small Estate should remain in the hands of his said father in law till he should arrive to his full age as the Law directs to take his Estate into his own hands all which being considered by the Court as aforesaid Therefore tis ordered that the said James Price as afsd shall be free from his said father in Law only the Estate of the said Price to remain in the hands of the said Joseph Newton until he shall come to his full age and the said Newton pay costs.

Page 6-8 To all Christian People .. I BENJAMIN NEWTON of county Stafford send greeting this 29th October 1699 .. Now Know ye that for sum Five thou sand pounds Tobo. paid by WILLIAM KING of county Stafford .. do bargain and sell that parcel or tract of land containing 150 acres be the same more or less being in Stafford County being part of a parcel of 400 acres of land which by divers means came to my Father JOHN NEWTON of county Westmoreland deced as by Demesne as of fee simple which John Newton by deed of gift dated 25th November 1690 gave & devised said 400 acres to me Benjamin Newton .. the. said 150 acres of land bounded beginning at the head of Kethers Marsh along a swamp that divides this land from the land formerly MATHEW BUSHS along said swamp until it, comes to the land that divides this land from land of JAMES PRICE thence along that line till it comes to a Black Walnut corner tree standing a little below Prices old dwelling house then along a line of marked trees that divides this land from the land Benjamin Newton lives on till it comes to a corner red oak that stands upon a line that divides the 150 acres now sold from the land of ROBERT KETHER or JOHN NEWTON JUNR. deced then along the said line till it comes to a swamp that divides the said land and the land I Benjamin Newton sold Mrs. SARAH HEWIT then down and along said swamp to beginning at the end of Kethers Marsh .. Presence Frances DuCondry, William Fitzhugh Junr. Benjamin Newton
Benjamin Newton acknowledged said deed and ordered recorded Novr. 9th 1699 and MARY NEWTON by WILLIAM FITZHUGH her attorney came into Court and acknowledged her right of dower to said deed.
Power of Attorney dated 8th November 1699 from Mary Newton to William Fitzhugh signed by Mary Newton in presence of CHARLES CALVERT and LUCY GRIGG.
