      WILL OF WILLIAM BRUCE, SENIOR
      In the Name of God Amen. I William Bruce, Senr being sick and Teak of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same, do make this my Last Will & Testament in manner and form following.
      Imps I bequeath my soul to God that gave it and my body to be lecently interr'd at the discretion of my Executors herein after Lamed and for what temperal estate God has blessed me with, I give and bequeath as followeth.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my brother Charles Bruce all the ioney due to me in the hands of Captain John Smith in Richmond County. I likewise give to my brother Charles Bruce all the money due me from John Spence in Westmoreland County. I likewise give to my brother Charles Bruce one half of my linnen and cotten that is not made up and likewise all my Books at Mrs. Elizabeth Willson's.
      Item: I give to my cousin William Bruce, son of Charles Bruce, all the money due to me from Hugh French in Richmond County.
      likewise quit my aforesaid cousin William Bruce the money he owes me.
      Item: I give and bequeath to my brother Hensfield Bruce all the remainder of my estate but of what nature or quality soever.
      Item: My will is that no part of my estate be apparaised.
      tem: I appoint my loving brothers Charles & Hensfield Bruce sole Executors of this my Last Will & Testament.
      In Witness whereunto I have set my hand and fixed my seal this twenty ninth day of October 1748.

      At a Court held for King George County on Fryday February 3d 1748/9.
      The last Will & Testament of William Bruce, Deceased, was presented into Court by Hensfeld Bruce one of the Executors who made oath thereto and the same was proved by the oaths of the witnesses thereto and admitted to record, having with George Morton entred into Bond in five hundred pounds for the same.

COB#2, Page 608: 3 Feb.1748/9= The will of William Bruce was presented in court by Hensfield Bruce, his executor, and he entered into bond in the sum of £500 Current Money with George Morton, his security. [BB#3, Page 86] The inventory of his estate was recorded 2 June 1749 in I#2,p.49.
