N THE NAME OF GOD AMEN I TABITHA PURKINS of the County of Essex being sick and weak doe make this my Last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say first I bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty God beleiving remission of Sins and Everlasting Life by the merrits death and passion of Jesus Christ my Lord and only Saviour
ITEM I give unto my Son GRIFFING PURKINS one shiling.
ITEM I give unto my Daughter AILCE BOOATON one Shiling.
ITEM I give unto my Daughter TABITHA LUMPKIN one Shiling.
ITEM I give unto my two Grand Daughters ELIZABETH &TABITHA LUMKIN each of them Ten Shilings to buy them Rings
ITEM all the rest of my Estate let it be of what nature or quality soever (after my just debts paid) I give unto my Daughter ANNE PURKINS & her heirs forever to be possessed of the same Emediately after my death and also that my said Daughter be for her self to act and doe without the hindrance or Interuption of any person whatsoever from the time of my death Lastly I doe appoint my Daughter ANN PURKINS and JOHN LUMPKIN to be my Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fiat my seal this 29th day of Aprill 1738

PURSUANT to an order of Essex County Court of the fifteenth of April! 1740 We the Subscribers being sworn have appraised the Estate of TABITHA PURKINS deced as follows . items listed and valued to total 16..03..9 .. (some items being) 2 bulls, 2 sows, 4 shoats & 7 piggs; 2 hides; some tools; 2 dozen plates; pewter dishes, tinn panns; 2 punch bowls; some leather, cotten cards; spining wheal, one Servant woman named JANE NICHOLS; to cash received (5 shillings 9 pence); a feather bed and furniture. Given under my hands this 11th of June 1740

TO ALL CHRISTIAN PEOPLE I WILLIAM COVINGTON of the County of Essex Parish of Southfarnham do by these presents for the love and natural affection I have unto my loving Son THOMAS COVINGTON do give all the peice of land being in the County & Parish aforesaid and part of a Pattent of land I now live on bounded Begining at a Corner tree on the South side the Swamp at the lower end of my Pattent a Corner to JAMES NEWBELL thence along the line to a Corner white oak to SAMLL. COATS thence along the said Coates line to Coates Spring Branch thence down the said branch to the Great Swamp thence down the middle of the sd Swamp & to the beginning containing One hundred and fifty acres of land To Hold unto the said Thomas Covington and his heirs forever, In Witness my hand and seal this 15th day of July 1736
