Reports of William w. Hening on sundry claims 12 Nov. 1800: [Page 80]
William Allison, Fauquier. £0.11.3, Hislop & Blair. He died in Fauquier County a few years ago, immensely rich. He left but one child, a daughter who married Robert Rose, Esq., now of that county. As this claim is for a mere trifle it would cost the United States more for me to go out of my district to investigate the justice of the demand than would be saved by repelling the claim altogether. From the general reputation of Mr. Allison's wealth and punctuality, he would have paid this sum at any time since the peace if he had known it was due.
