      [Note: it may be a coincidence, but Mary E. Banks of Bedford County, Virginia married Matthew Hall. The Bankses of Bedford Co. moved at one time to Adair County, Kentucky. Some of the Banks descended from this Maryland family also were in Adair Co. at one time]

      Indenture made November 2, 1759; John Banks of Frederick County, Maryland, planter in consideration of 100 pounds sterling money of Great Britain paid by Samuel Banks of PGCo, planter has sold tracts, "The Additon of Quebeck" containing 104 acres; "Elizabeth" lying on the east side of the Eastern Branch containing 40 acres; "Littleworth" binding on "Janefield" lying on the east side of the Western Branch containing 16 acres; "Quebecks Beginnings" containing 35 acres. Signed John Banks, in the presence of John Hepburn, Thomas Chittam and acknowledged before John Hepburn and at the same time Mary Banks w/o John Banks relinquished her right of dower.
