Mrs. Frances WEBB desired, in her last sickness, that an instrument of writing that John SMITH Gent., had which she had gave [sic] him some time ago was her will and that the same was still her desire;
Deposition by Mrs. Lucy SMITH (wife of John SMITH Jr., Gent., 11 Nov 1783 [substantially the same as above].

William Webb and wife Winifred, of NFP, RC, to Thomas Smith, same; for 100 pounds CMV; 83a, parcel or plantation whereon Richard Appleby formerly did live in said parish, adj. the mouth of a gut that makes out of Richardson's Creek and divides this land from the land now belonging to Mrs. Frances Webb formerly belonging to Robert Balis, the road which is near the road that leads from the beaverdam to Mr. Barnes' mill, by the side of Huckleberry Swamp [metes and bounds omitted], to beg. Signed William Webb, Winnifred Webb. Wits. William Hunt, William Palmer, Griffin [his X mark] Dobyns. Receipt. Privy Examination. 7 JUN 1764. John Tarpley, John Plummer and LeRoy Griffin, Gents., are empowered to go to and examine Winnifred the wife of William Webb and receive her acknowledgement of a deed of bargain and sale dated 14 JUN 1764. Returned 14 JUN 1764 by John Tarpley and John Plummer that they examined Mrs. Winnifred Webb who freely relinquished her right and acknowledged the said deed. Rec. 2 JUL 1764.
