      THIS INDENTURE made the 17th January 1776 Between JOHN RENNOLDS & BETTY his Wife of County of Essex of one part & ROBERT COLEMAN of County of Culpeper Witnesseth that said John Rennolds and Betty his Wife for sum of one hundred & fifty pounds current money do grant unto the said Robert Coleman his heirs land in County of Culpeper on the branches of Mountain Run & purchased of WILLIAM BEVERLEY Decd & conveyances relative thereto will more fully appear Begining at two white oaks corner to ALEXANDER McQUEEN thence with McQueen's line South to three white oaks up a line of PHILAMON KAVANAUGHs thence West to a Hickory East to Alexander McQueens line thence with said McOueens line to the Begining contining 400 acres . . . .

      This Indenture was partly provd by oaths of John Yancey Junr. & Philip Clayton two of the Witnesses thereto was ordered to be certified.
      At Court held for said County the 17 June 1776
      This Indenture was fully provd by the oath of John Rennolds Junr. together with memorandum & Receipt thereon & with Commission & Certificate thereto annexed are ordered to be recorded.
      George the Third to THOMAS ROANE, JOHN UPSHAW & WILLIAM ROANE Gent. Whereas John Rennolds and Betty his Wife have sold land in County of Culpeper to Robert Coleman and whereas said Betty cannot conveniently travel to our County Court of Culpeper to make acknowledgement of said conveyance We do give unto you power to receive the acknowledgement which said Betty shall be willing to give and when you have received her acknowledgement that you certify us thereof in our said Court Witness JOHN JAMESON Clerk of our said Court at the Court house this 18th day of January 1776.
      Pursuant to the within Commission we have this day taken the Examination of Betty Rennolds seperately from her husband who freely without the persuation of her husband acknowledged the deed Certified under our hands in Essex County this 22 day of January 1776.

      THIS INDENTURE made this 21st day of September in year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred & Eighty nine Between ROBERT COLEMAN of County of Culpeper of one part and LUCY COLEMAN GREEN of County aforesaid of other part; Witnesseth that ROBERT COLEMAN in consideration of the sum of Fifty pounds current money of Virginia to him in hand paid, by these presents doth bargain & sell unto LUCY COLEMAN GREEN her heirs one tract of land lying in County of Culpeper, being the tract of land said ROBERT COLEMAN purchased of JOHN REYNOLDS by an Indenture of Feeoffment bearing date the seventeenth day of January one thousand seven hundred and seventy six, And the tract of land is bounded, Begining at a white Oak corner to STEVENS, thence West 205 poles to corner to two Pines (down) corner to YANCEY, thence North 40 poles to COLEMAN, thence with his line North 871/2 East 105 in an Old Field thence North 67 East (blank) poles to three Pines supposed near REY-NALDS line, thence to the begining, containing one hundred & thirty acres (more or less) together with all previledges and advantages to tract of land belonging; To have and to hold the tract of land with appurtenances unto LUCY COLEMAN GREEN her heirs and ROBERT COLEMAN shall warrant & forever defend the tract of land unto LUCY COLEMAN GREEN her heirs free and clear from the claims of any person; In Witness whereof said ROBERT COLEMAN hath hereunto set his hand & seal the day & year first written Sealed & Delivered in presence of

      Henry Field Jr. (son of John), Culpeper. £10.5.8. He was an officer of the American army at the
      commencement of the war and died about 1778. He left a very good estate and two daughters, who were his only children. Robert Coleman, Jr., of Culpeper took administration on his estate and brought up his children from their infancy. About the fall of 1793 or beginning of 1794 Robert Coleman, Jr., removed to Kentucky and carried with him the two daughters of Henry Field, Jr., together with their estate. He now lives in Nelson Co. , Ky. , and is in very independent circumstances

      Robert Coleman, Junr., Culpeper. £0.8.9, William Cunningham & Co. (Fredericksburg Store). He removed to Kentucky about 1794 and carried with him a very good estate. He now lives in Nelson County, very able to pay.
