      HIS INDENTURE made the Fourth day of April in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty four and in the tenth year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George by the grace of God of Great Brittain France and Ireland, King, Defender of the faith &c., by and between JOHN BLACKLEY of Spotsylvania County, Planter, of one part and JAMES ATKINS of the aforesaid County, Planter, of other part; Witnesseth that JOHN BLACKLEY in consideration of the sum of five shillings sterling by him in hand paid by JAMES ATKINS hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto JAMES ATKINS and assigns all that tract, of land containing' one hundred acres of land lying in Saint George Parish in Spotsylvania County, Beginning at a white Oak and Dogwood on the side of NASSAPONNAX RUN, it being a corner of FRANCIS THORNTON's land and running with THORNTON's line thence to a corner Hiccory on KENNEY's line and with KENNEY's line running to the head of a Branch of NASSAPONNAX being the head line and corners there at two Spanish Oaks and a red Oak and running thence by a strait course to a white Oak standing upon the side of a Hill on NASSAPONNAX RUN side, thence down the main run of NASSAPONNAX to the beginning, the same by estimation one hundred acres more or less by the aforesaid bounds thereof it being part of a larger tract of land containing one hundred and eighty acres by a Deed bearing date the ninth day of February in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty three, To have and to hold the tract of land with the appurtenances unto JAMES ATKINS and assigns from the day before the date of these presents for and during the full term of one whole year from thence next ensueing paying therefore the rent of one ear of Indian Corn at the Feast of Saint Michael the Arch Angel only if the same be lawfully demanded to the intent that by vertue of these presents and the Statute for transferring uses into possession JAMES ATKINS may be in the actual possession of the premises and be thereby enabled to take a release of the inheritance thereof to him and his heirs, In Witness whereof the said party to these presents hath interchangeably put his hand and seal the day and year first above written

      THIS INDENTURE made this Sixteenth day of January in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and twenty seven, between JOHN BLACKLEY of Parish of Saint George in County of Spotsylvania of one part and ROBERT WILLIAMS of Parish and County aforesaid of other part; Wittnesseth that JOHN BLACKLEY in consideration of sum of five shillings to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth acknowledge hath and by these presents doth bargain and sell unto ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs one hundred acres of land lying on North side of MASSAPONNAX SWAMP the same being part of a Patent formerly granted unto JOHN QUARLES bearing date the thirtyeth day of September one thousand seven hundred and twenty three bounded, Beginning at the mouth of the South Branch of MASSAPONNAX SWAMP thence up the MASSAPONNAX RIVER to a line of MOTT's Patent, thence with the said line North North East one hundred and fifty four poles to a line of a Patent granted to JAMES CANADY, thence with his line South seventy degrees East to a corner of JAMES ATKINS, thence with his line to MASSAPONNAX MAIN RIVER just above the said ATKINS's Plantation, thence up the Main River of MASSAPONNAX to the mouth of the said South Branch being the beginning place scituate in County and Parish aforesaid together with all rents and profitts thereof; To have and to hold the land and premises with appurtenances unto ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs from the day before the date hereof during the term of one whole year from thence next ensueing paying therfore the rent of one ear of Indian Corn at the Feast of Saint John the Baptist only if the same be demanded to the intent that by virtue hereof and by force of the Statute for transferring uses into possession ROBERT WILLIAMS may be in actuall possession of the premises and

      This Indenture made the twenty six day of March in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred and twenty nine Retween JOHN BLACKLEY of the parish of Overwharton in the County of Stafford within the Colony and Dominion of Virginia of the one part and ROBERT WILLIAMS of the parish of Saint George of the County of Spotsylvania within the Colony and Dominion aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the JOHN BLACKLEY for and in consideration of the sum of three thousand pounds of Tobacco to him in hand paid by the said ROBERT WILLIAMS at or before the ensealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof the said JOHN BLACKLEY hereby acknowledged and himself therewith fully satisfied contented and paid and thereof and of every part and parcell thereof doth clearly and absolutely acquit Exonerate and discharge him the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns and every of them forever by these presents, hath given granted bargained and sold aliened assigned released enfeoffed and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely and absolutely give grant bargain sell alien assign release enfeoff and confirm unto the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Executors Administrators and assigns one hundred acres of land lying on the north side of Massaponnax Swamp the same being part of a patent formerly granted to JOHN QUARLES bearing date the thirtienth day of September one thousand seven hundred and twenty three, Bounded as followeth [Vitt.] Beginning thence with the said line north north east one hundred and fifty four poles to a line of a patent granted to JAMES CANNEY thence Massaponax Swamp thence up the said Massaponax Run to a line of MOTT's patent thence with the said line north north east one hundred and fifty four poles to a line of a patent granted to JAMES CANNEY with his line south seventy degrees east to a corner of Capt. WILLIAM HANSFORD's thence with his line to Massaponax Main run just above the said HANSFORD's plantation thence up the Main Run of Massaponnax to the mouth of the said south branch being the beginning place situate and lying in the parish of Saint George and County of Spotsylvania aforesaid and all the estate right title Intrust use property reversion claim and demand whatsoever of him the said JOHN BLACKLEY his heirs Executors Admrs. and assigns and of every other person or persons whatsoever of into and out of the premises and every part and parcell thereof all which said premises now are in the actual possession of him the said ROBERT WILLIAMS by virtue of our Indenture of Bargain and Sale to him thereof made for the Form of one year bearing date the day before the date of these presents and made between JOHN BLACKLEY of the parish and county aforesaid of the one part and ROBERT WILLIAMS of the parish and county aforesaid of the other part and by virtue of the Statute for Transferring uses into possessions and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders and all other rents [except Quitrents] and profits of the premises and every part and parcell thereof together with all and singular Deeds Wills Evidences Writings Records Exemplifcations of Record Escripts whatsoever touching and consarning the said premises or any part or parcell thereof To Have and To Hold the said seat or tract of land and all and singular other the premises and every part and parcell thereof with their and every of their appurtenances unto the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. an assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns forever to be held on of our Sovereign Lord the King his heirs and Successors by the Quitrents Accostoined and the said JOHN BLACKLEY his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns the said mentioned granted premises with the appurtenances unto the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs and assigns against him the said JOHN BLACKLEY his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns and against all persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and defend by these presents and the said JOHN BLACKLEY for himself his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns and every of them doth covenant and agree to and with the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns and every of them in Manner and form following [that is to say] that it shall and may be lawfull to and for the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs tenants and assigns from time to time and at all times hereafter according to the true meaning intent and purposes of these presents peaceably and quietly to enter upon have held use occupy possess and enjoy to his and their own proper use and behoof of the aforementioned seat or tract of land and all and singular other the premises hereafter mentioned ment or intended to be hereby given granted sold aliened assigned released infeoffed and confirmed and every part and parcel! thereof with the appurtenances without any lawfull or equitables Lot Suit trouble Denial disturbance Expulsiion Eviction Interruption claim or demand of him the said JOHN BLACKLEY his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns or any other person or persons whatsoever and that the said JOHN BLACKLEY now hath good right and lawfull authority to sell and dispose the said land and premises to the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns in Manner and form aforesaid and further that he the said JOHN BLACKLEY his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns shall and will at any time within the space of seven years next ensuing the date hereof upon request and at the cost and charges of him the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns make levy acknowledge Execute and suffer or cause to be done made acknowledge executed and suffered all and every such further and other lawfull & reasonable assurance and act in law for the further better and more absolute assuring and conveying the said seat or tract of land and all and singular other the premises herein before mentioned meant or intended to be hereby given granted bargained and sold aliened devised enfeoffed and confirmed and every part and parcell thereof with the appurtenances unto the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of him the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns according to the true intent and meaning of these presents as by the said ROBERT WILLIAMS his heirs Exrs. Admrs. and assigns at his or their Council Learned in the Law shall be reasonably devised advised or required.
