      Charles County Maryland Land Record Liber Z#2, 1744-1753; Page 197. At the request of Philip Magraw, the following lease was put into the office to be recorded on Jan 12, 1747[/8].
      Oct 21, 1747 from William Middleton Jr of CC, planter, to Philip Magraw of CC, planter, for 800 lbs tobacco in case the inspection laid should pass, otherwise 1000 pounds of tobacco, the lease of that tract of land whereon sd Middleton formerly lived, being in CC, laid out for 110 acres. This is a 15 year lease. Magraw will, within 4 years, plant 100 apple trees, and will keep all apple trees healthy and all gardens and fences in good repair. He will not waste timber. Magraw may not settle any other tenant on the land, or have hands other than his own servants, slaves, or children, Signed - William Middleton Jr, Philip (e his mark) Magraw.
